Sounds mental fast.. first dibs on your evo when you come to sell it. Ive had an evo itch I've wanted to scratch for a while.

I have actually been looking at Evo's and for some reason I am 21 yet its same price to insure as the S15. But haven't had the S15 long i seem to like to change cars often.

How would you compare it to the S15? running costs and just general driving?

I'll keep you in mind Adam ;), not planning on getting rid yet though, only just bought it :D

Jay, it cost me £550 extra to insure the Evo with mods declared, everywhere I tried was giving me huge quotes, sky did a good deal for me but it meant I'd have to cancel my existing policy which I'd already taken out on the S15. I tried to sell the S15 before the insurance was due but it didn't happen so by the time it actually went I would have been charged a massive cancelation fee.

the S15 feels like more of a proper sports coupe, lower, much stiffer, more confined, a lot better looking, but twitchy when running reasonable power. The Evo feels like a family car, loads of space inside, you sit a lot higher but are hugged very tightly by the Recaro buckets, the turning circle is seriously piss poor aswell, lol. I'd have liked to compare what it's like to drive an Evo 8 with the AYC electronic diff as mine has the mechanical RS diff which is a far better setup it seems in the Evo world. You can get the back end out on the setup this car runs but it's so controllable, you just keep your foot in and it straightens up immediately.

Yeah, proper bit of kit, mate. I had one on the S15 aswell and the quality is one of the best out there. I literally can't wait to get the car back, really want to take it for a proper spin as its Running an external gate now aswell.

Yes, mate. I bought it to smash it around n track and launch it hard up Santa Pod. As soon as its mapped I'm taking it up Pod to see what it'll do, hoping for mid 11's at the moment.

Yeah, I'll give you a shout, mate. They close for the winter soon, so I hope the motor is sorted in time. The cams haven't arrived yet either, so still a few bits to sort.

Cheers Adam, feel exactly the same about the stability in the S15, can worry me sometimes. Always liked Evo's currently looking at a red FQ340 one just something about it may not be a winner in the looks department compared to the S15 but they look hard.

Be nice to see some vids of yours in action will be savage.

Wow love the brakes and the new mani!

Speaking of the AYC, I think they can be quite tricky to master...my mate has got one and it took him a while to get used to it...general consensus is keep the foot planted even if you think its suicide :D

Yeah, a few mates that have had them over the years have mentioned the handling takes a little getting used to with the AYC setup.

ive finally got the car back on the road as of this evening :D, I'm trying to arrange getting the car mapped for next weekend. We also found out the car was running 2.2 bar of boost on the last map (there's no boost gauge), so I had no way of knowing, and there may be cams already in it. There's only one way to find out, I'll be taking the rocker cover of at some point in the week.
