You are losing traction just when accelerating? You might want to look into running a wider wheel to properly for a wider tire. Or upgrade to a better tire.

Thanks for the reply guys

Im just wondering that's all ..
because I'm losing traction
im on 204rkw and 225 tyres eagle f1
And I lose traction on 2nd .. Let alone 1st ?

Would you guys recommend 245 ?
What do you guys think ?
Are you talking about dry or wet?
If dry then either your running stupid camber or your tyres are shot.

Just whipped my rear wheels off and i dont know if its some sort of optical illusion, but it almost looks as if the inside of my tires are lower than the outsides. as if its dipped in the middle. but there is more tire wear the the middle (at 32psi) which I think is bizarre. I thought 32psi was ideal? Any takers?

But anyways, the point of me posting. I'm shocking with offsets. What size 18" wheels fill fit on the rear of my car. I'm looking at sensible, not 'wide as possible'.

Currently got HSD coilovers on. So what widths can I run, with the offset, and recommended tyre size for the REAR?

Will these fit the REAR with the coilovers, and a bit of -ve camber generated by the coils
18x8.5 +30
18x9.5 +35

Cheers

Wheels: Rota Drift Grid Matte Bronze
Size: 8.5x18
Offset: +30
Tyres: Bridgestone Potenza S001 - 225 40 18 92Y XL
Spacers: no
Suspension: stock
Comments:

These wheels fit perfectly on a stock S15 :

The offset is perfect, not too much. The wheels are about 0,5 in out of the fenders.
My rear fenders are rolled, and I tried the same wheels with an offset of 20 and it was OK.
(ET 20 wasn't OK without the rolling, but I think ET30 will be OK)

Careful with the front shock absorber : there is not a lot of room between the rim and the shock.
With a stock shock, there is about 1/4 in (a bit less than 1 cm)

At rear, there's still a lot of room...

Compared to the stock wheels, the handling is incredibly better...

Like a lot of you here I'm seeking some advice on offset.

I think I've decided on a set of the new Koya BS-Tek mesh wheels in black for my S15.

18 by 8in front (Bridgestone S-04 235-40 tire)
18 by 9in rear (Bridgestone S-04 255-35 tire)

I'm running standard suspension and don't want to roll guards or run silly camber. I'd like the wheels sitting just inside the guards for good fitment and no rubbing.

Now my problem is choosing the offset. Apparently Koya can build the wheels to my offset preference.
What should I specify front and rear? I've seen +32 front and +38 rear sitting nicely, slightly lowered with no spacers or rolled guards. Should I go +35 all round?

Very rough photoshop of how the wheels should look. My S15 is an identical colour and body but note this is not my S15 (thanks MrPham :p).

Front will be OK with 8" ET32. The rim will sit about 5-10mm inside the arch, and no clearance problem with stock suspension.

Rear should also be OK. No problem with inside clearance, there's a lot of room.
I'm not so sure for outside. With 255 the tires won't be stretched.
With 9" ET38, it's just 2mm less than my 8,5" ET30.
I know that without rolling, 8.5 ET20 doesn't fit (the tires rub on the arches, and they were streched)
12mm less without stretching : there's a slight risk of rubbing...

Thanks for the clarification. Ok looks like I'll try for +32 front and +38 rear and hope I don't need to roll the guards. Will let everyone know how I go. :)

Will be close. I think it will depend on how much you lower it and how firm the suspension is (ie amount of travel).
I just installed 18 x 9 +35 on the rear (close to your specs) and it fits with standard suspension and -2 degrees camber. Hope that helps. :)

Seeking comment on my new wheel setup.

18 x 8+25 front (235-40 tyre)
18 x 9+35 rear (255-35 tyre)
Running standard suspension with adjustable bushes.

I just had this combo installed and a wheel alignment performed but I'm a little concerned the alignment is too aggressive for my street duties (particularly the front camber and toe all round). See attached measurement printout below.
This setup was apparently required so my wheels didn't poke out. The offset on the front is obviously a bit much. +30 would let me run a more reasonable -1.5 to -2 degrees and not be outside the guards?
How many km's am I likely to get out of my new tyres with -3 degrees camber on the front and -2 degrees camber on the rear?

Quick question guys, would an 18x10 et15 fit on the rear ? Or would I need I flare it?? My arches are rolled flat back just worried it might be too aggressive for my arches.....

Hello!

It was my first season with this wheels, so I had 265/35 18" all around.
Now I have a pair of 255/35 18" and thinking about other pair of tyres.... or may be another set of rims :)
