If you've got pictures just stick them up in here, mate :D

well, finally heard back about mapping, a dyno day has been set for next weekend but I'm really trying to get the car mapped before then so I can rag the **** out of it basically, lol. I told the mapper the turbo specs and he wants one too :D

I'm sure he does, lol...

Mate, it's coming along nicely, I'd definitely push for the mapping before the dyno so you can rag the crap out of it, lol.

Looking forward to the Dyno plots, :)

Every time I see your thread makes me want an evo . Keep seeing a mental looking black fq 400 on my way to work that makes me grin like an idiot

Only pic I have of hers ATM I love this colour looks real nice

I nearly bought a 9 in that colour, I really liked it too. There were also two fq400's I was keeping an eye on, I really wanted one that model aswell! But one looked like a ****ter and the other was in Ireland and I couldn't be arsed with the travelling and re-registering.

Yeah I don't blame you mate tbh more hassle than its worth, going to see the car etc looks like you picked up a really good, well spec'd motor dude and it looks tidy too .
Between you and her I'm finding it hard to stay away from the evo lol
I love my 15 though.......
The 400 I see is the new shape evo x has some mad ass bonnet looks absolutely mental I love it lol
Just insanely rapid motors out of the box. Hers is a 340 and totally standard had it on the rollers produced 360 odd bhp

How much does your guy charge for a road map dude? If you don't mind me asking. Think I should get mine done soon as I get round to fitting my fmic and fuel pump as it was running 1.1-1.2 bar when I got it on the wmic lol think it would benefit from a map tbh

Yeah, it's had a lot of good spec parts fitted, minus the turbo the car could take over 600bhp. I don't like the image of the Evo anywhere near as much as the S15 as its such a better looking car, it was just one of those boxes I needed to tick. The bodywork isn't terrible but it's not exactly great, the bonnet really needs to be resprayed, stone chips all over it and lacquer peel on the front too, the boot lid needs a small dent removed and the carbon rear spoiler needs re-laquering too so it looks reasonable.

the mapping was £150, which is beyond reasonable. However, I'm not sure if he's got the software to do anything apart from the stock Evo management, I can ask him for you.

I had the S15 mapped by Martin Battye first time and Gary at APT just before I sold the car, both did a good job on the car.

the Evo isn't getting mapped on the dyno now as the chappy can't make it this weekend and I'm so desperate just to get the car finished I said forget the dyno, just road map it when you're free. I've had another draw back too, it's literally never ending with this car :wack:... The Full Race manifold has cracked, and quite badly aswell. You could barely hear it blowing but I noticed the car felt down on power and had a slight "tapping" on any kind of throttle appliance. I've taken the manifold off tonight and dropped it round a mates house to see if he can patch it all back up. It's not like its fallen apart but the turbo mating flange has actually cracked all the way through, I've not idea how that has happened.

That's a bit of a shocker with a full race mani, you should get in touch with them see what they are prepared to do, might get a new replacement out of them?

I thought a bolt had come loose at first, I wasn't expecting to find what I did, I've never seen one of them crack before, especially the way it's gone. I doubt they'll do much with regards a warranty as I bought it second hand off someone with the gt35r. I'm proper gutted it has cracked though as it was the only nice looking thing in the engine bay, lol.

Can't believe the bad luck your having Adam. Hope it gets better after Xmas!
Yeah, I'm nearly pulling my hair out at this point, Sam. Everything that's failed has been unrelated to the last issue, so it's not like I'm fixing the same problem over and over again, it truly is bad luck:down::wack:

Ah man!!!!! I was hoping that you would have seen the last of your set backs!! I thought full race would be pretty much unbreakable! Disappointed to hear that dude, I hope your mate can sort it out for you as it would be quite an unwanted expense to replace!!
Can't believe the luck you are having with this car man! Keep the faith though, it will all come good in the end buddy

Cheers, chaps. Nearly all the updates are for something that's gone wrong :wack:

well I picked the manifold up earlier, it's all fixed, I just need to flatten the faces again before it goes back on the car. My mate's welded inside and out to stop the cracks from spreading... Hopefully, lol. I've got to wait another week now to get the car mapped, I hope the time passes quickly as I want to abuse the car to teach it a lesson :D

I actually tried to work out what this car sets me back last week, roughly. I kept remembering things after totalling it up aswell, lol. I've spent a lot on this car! I've bought everything brand new except the gt35r and manifold and they have been the two major things to set me back after the initial turbo failure.

I have also tried the car at 2bar with no knock in its current state, before the manifold cracked. This is one of the main reasons I'm going ahead with the punishment. It is so violent in its acceleration it's untrue, my other half couldn't even get her hand to the radio to turn the volume down, lol.

Ha ha ha that sounds amazing man, savage power delivery FTW !!! A clear indication it will be well worth all the bother!! I need more power lmao next year it's on my to do list :D
I have to say , you are very lucky in someways too! Could you imagine having to pay someone to do all the work you have done on your car?!?!? I think your bank balance would have given up long before you did!! And also because you have had to open it up you know 100% what you have , and it sounds a very well spec'd car
Still really excited about this , have been gutted everytime something has gone wrong I'm just glad you are persevering with it this car is gonna be totally awesome dude, keep the faith!!!!!
