woot! always wanted DBAs! nice.
Cheers... This is my second set now and I never did fit the first ones, lol. If I can get the bells off without damaging them i'm going to powder coat them red to match the Brembo's.
Love the works bell snap off, totally jap!
I am looking at a few different wheel and boss setups and that sounds nice, with the Nardi. (something I will be going with but not sure to snap off or not...)
With so many parts non-JDM for this build, when I get the chance to have one, it's gotta be done. Wheel wise i'm still deciding between a Sparco Lap 5 and the Nardi. The Nardi is a bit more expensive but will likely go that route. IMHO you gotta go quick release
It also has alot to do with reducing the risk of det as when you dont run a breather set up you can get a fair bit of oil vapour from crankcase blow-by on fairly tuned engines!
Theres a lot of mixed opinions but from what I can gather running the breather vta is better as it completley reduces the risk of oil in your inlet..yet running the breather back into the intake helps top end power and frees up a few bhp..also if you get a decent baffled catch tank it should only be clean air going back in anyway..
Oh yeh and buying all these lovely parts and not being able to fit them myself would kill me!!!!
Edit - Ignore me lol thought it was a catch tank you had got not a breather for the water system! Silly me..
LOL.... I should be ok on the det side, just bought a KS-4 wideband knock sensor (SXOC group buy) and i'll be running VP MS109 unleaded race fuel which has high det protection even at high CRs and boost pressures, so should be ok on that side of things, the 105 octane won't hurt either
About the oil catch can, I originaly bought a Cusco can but I didn't fit it in the end (still got it), I will be running a crank case breather to a custom box with a couple of mini K&N filters on it in pretty much the same location as the ABS unit (which will be gone), it will run vta and it won't be recirc'd back into the inlet, I don't think i'll need to worry about hp once the build it complete (shooting for 700+ lol).
About my kit and not fitting it, seriously it's killing me.... I have about £10k of parts now just sitting in box plastic boxes in my basement, waiting to go on lol. The only good new is that I might be staying in the US for a longer period (will know in the next 2 months), if i'm staying it will likely be for another 3 years, so i've already got prices to container my 15 to the states (not to register it as a road car which you can't but just so I can work on it and transport it to the garages over here for work), the charge for 1 way is not much more than my insurance, so if i'm staying it coming over here.
Ermmm trailor the car to Mazworx, Full Race, Apex Speed Tech, me like. If i'm not staying i'll be back at the end of the year and I can start putting everything together then...
Works Bell stuff is amazing... wish I could afford this
I'm having to look at NRG as it's more within my budget lol...
James, The quality is superb but the price isn't
. FRSport have a load of NRG quick releases recently posted on their site as new additions, I think they have some good deals at the mo.
You're track car is looking top mate, one day in the distant (hopefully not too distant) future, i'll be sharing some track space with you and Craig, that should be fun.....
