Thanks. I know someone who runs 18 X 9.5 +30 in the rears and they stick out a fair bit, so i am surprised this sits pretty flush with the guards with +22 offsets. I would like to get these in Silver though, but have yet to see a pic of these wheels in this offset in silver.

They running lots and lots of camber, most of the tire is in the air on the outer edge. If your running corrected camber, then yes they will stick out

I agree. However i do plan to run a 235 tire stretched over 9.5 inches to aid clearence, i am just worried that i am unable to achieve the same angle of the spoke if i calculate the offset/width wrongly

Wheels: VOLKS GTS
Size: 19x 8.5" front and 19x 9.5" rear
Offset: Front: Disc A:+24, Rear: Disc C:+37
Tyres: Kumho KU31, Front: 235/35/19, Back 265/30/19
Spacers: none
Suspension: standard, rear guards were rolled, might not fit coilovers, there is no much space left between the inner wheels and the struts. Apart from that, it fits perfectly

Can someone who knows about these things help me out here.

Ive found some wheels that I like.

However my problem is that in 18 inch they only come in sizes 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5.

Im going to be putting on my Gen2 Apex Coliovers soon with a ikeya formula alignment arm kit.

I am also going to get the rear arches rolled too.

Will it be possible to run 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rears without rubbing?

Id guess I would need a +32 front and +38 rear offset?

The available offsets are:
18x8.5 = +43 / +38 / +37 / +32 / +30 / +25
18x9.5 = +38 / +30 / +20 / +12

Guessing it might be more sensible to go 18x8.5 all round?

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Which wheels? Got a pic? :)

Go for 9.5J for the rears, but will depend on what tyre width you choose. If you squeezed a 235 on there, you would have no problems and probably not even have to roll the arches. +38 is a good choice ona 9.5J and seems to be quity popular.

As for the fronts, the 8.5J will again be tight. I believe a few others have the same 8.5/32 setup. The +30 could also be an option to safeguard coilover rubbage.

My XD9's fit perfectly with the rear arches rolled using the following sizes, offsets and tyres. No stretched tyres needed and the rim doesn't protrude sitting as far out as possible but flush with the arch. I've also lowered the car so that the wheels fill the arches nicely (40-60mm id say).

F 18x8 +35 225/40/18
R 18x9 +30 235/40/18

From the sizes you've stated, i'd go for 8.5 +32 for the fronts. It's the best compromise for clearance and looks. They will however stick out slightly but won't look too bad.

For the rears you have two options. +30 or +38. +30 will stick out ever so slightly but look cool whereas +38 will be the safer option tucking in more. If you dont want your rear arches rolled, then go for 8.5 +30 or +32 with the latter tucking in more.

All of this is also dependant on the rim design, camber and height settings, tyres sizes, but you should be ok as long as you dont slam the car to the ground. By the way, i've also got Tein coilovers so you will have more clearance with other suspension.

Darren, the rears you wont have to worry about its the fronts that MAY rub, my WORK XD9's are 8" +35 with a 225/40/18 tyre and i have about 5-7mm strut clearance so you may just get away with 8.5 on the fronts with a +30 offset as long as you dont have too much camber.

Id reccommend...

8.5 +30 with 225/40/18 tyres
9.5 +38 with 255/35/18 tyres

What wheels are they anyway ? Are you keeping secrets from me as you didnt mention this at the weekend or did the tree pie get to your head ? :wack:

Thanks for all the info guys.

Going to keep the wheels under wraps until I get them on the car.

Jez, Ive been planning wheels for a while and after seeing how pants mine looked on Sunday I decided I NEEDED to change them sooner rather than later, maybe the tree sponge helped me decided :rotfl:

Ok so I think Ill defiantly go for 18x9.5 +38 on the rear.

As for the fronts the +32 will look better than the +30 because of the wheel design.

I noticed that Nicley runs 18x8.5 +32 on the fronts but also mentions the wheels do stick out a bit.

So if the +32 are going to give me possible clearance problems with the coilovers and stick out I think Id be better to be sensible and get the +30.

Thanks.

I've read through this whole thread and couldn't find the info I was looking for, well, I found half. I am looking to buy some 17x9" rims in a +35 offset. I know they will suit the rears fine from reading this thread, but no-one seems to have a close offset for the front. Will I run into any issues? I am also running Silk Road coilovers...

Thanks in advance!
