finally picked the car up from the bodyshop today, had a couple of weeks away so was looking forward to getting the trim back in and taking the car out, but it overheated on the way home. i guess that i hadn't bled the coolant system properly before i dropped it down there in the cooler weather and the high temperature now has shown it up, so i need to bleed the system again to make sure its sorted. anyway, here are the pics :)

thanks mate, i'm really happy with it but don't think i'll be buying clearcorners as nice as they are. they are very expensive for re-engineered originals but i do agree they would look nice. :)

True, they are well expensive and just gone up, now $1750 a set. Do love the look of them though, until I win the lottery will have to make do with the HIDs and a good machine polishing of the lenses...

I so badly want a set of wind deflectors for mine, grrrr

So is that job done ?... Can't see much more you can really do to yours short of some mad engine upgrade, or is there more in the works.

hopefully it will just be little things to do now, chassis is sorted, cosmetics are finished with and i don't want any more power so it will literally be playing around with odds and ends :)

That's what I thought, couldn't see much more you could do apart from the odds and sods, now time to get some driving done and enjoy the shows...

I've been in the US for 6 months now so proper missing mine, have treated her to some new brakes though and i've just bought an S15 short block (with turned/polished crank) decked, cleaned and bored to 86.5mm and a head - decked, cleaned and 3-angle valve job (with titanium retainers and uprated springs) for absolutely peanuts. Couldn't resist it, so now my projects taking a different path and i'll be building a complete long block here (assembly by Mazworx) for shipping back home, damn these cars lol....

Job well done! Does the guy who did your paint job work on anyones cars? Gonna need a full respray at some point and looks like he has done a really top job of yours!

cheers mate - yes he does, he likes to look at the car before giving a price but he's very fair and does a really good job. as you know the kit is a replica but you would never think it if you looked at it, bear that in mind and the fact that the original vertex kit is almost 2k on its own, i can say that the kit, fitting and paint cost me less than that all together :)

ichigo, sounds like you're on the way to building a right monster there - and the prestige of having an engine in your car that has been built by mazworx :notworthy:

I am thinking of stripping the car completely back to nothing and starting from scratch as the panels that have been replaced are blue and red and all sorts underneath so would be a bare metal respray, would have to pay him a visit once I have the kit I want and the cash in place see what he says,be ok to contact you about it when I am ready?
Is a bloody good price and you would never tell its a copy, fit is brilliant!

spot on love it.. now get driving it! :)

I take it the number plate is on that side as to get more air up to the filter? I am having my bumper re-sprayed next week so think I'll move mine over to the nearside. What are the dimensions of it if you don’t mind me asking?

thanks all for the nice comments :) i would get driving it if a: it had an mot, and b: it wasn't playing up.....have an airlock in the coolant system that needs chasing out, need to re-bleed the brakes and have the geo done and then i'm done.

as for number plate positin, i chose there because it would cover up the washer bottle and thats about the only reason lol. i had planned at some point to relocate the apexi filter into the inner wing as its a fair weather car, just have never got round to it...

dimensions are as follows mate - it is legal import/motorcycle sizing and spacing as far as i know
210mm wide
170mm tall
lettering is centred and the lettering is standard uk font, 65mm tall, 45mm wide with 10mm spacing between characters and lines.
