Thanks mate, i work hard for the money and have a mortgage to pay too. I do nearly all the work myself so that helps alot. I have no idea how guys afford it that have to pay for lots and lots of labour. Your s15 looks great too by the way!

Sr20 id reccommend going to gt auto garage for your work. Atleast untill i finish my apprenticeship.

So in recent news... My s15 was always looking a bit bare around the key barrel, some nob must have lost it installing the momo steering wheel my car had on it when i got it. Part number for anyone in the same boat

Aah that helped my ocd

Stayed back a few nights at work and got the cams approved bolt in half cage installed in the r32. Was pretty easy going just have to be careful not to scratch the paint.

Sorry the pics are a bit ****, ill do some proper ones soon.

I have placed another order with frsport.com, they guy mike there has been really helpful getting me the plx wideband o2 sensor and Dm-6 multi guage combo.

I also added a takata 4 point racing harness for the skyline and a circuit sports 480cc catch can. Not sure which car its going on yet, probably the skyline as i want to use it at the track soon as possible. If its and good and i can make a decent internal baffle for it i will order another for the s15.

Also spent a few more hours with josh and murray from mca suspension on saturday. Josh drove the car and made some changes to the bump and rebound settings front and rear, this improved the car again as we took the car for another test. Josh has recommended that we try a slightly different rear spring rate so a new pair of springs ate being made.

Afterwards josh's dad murray took the car for a test with josh as passenger. The feedback was the same, and it was nice that it was inline with how i thought the car could have been better, if any :)

I may try adjusting caster at the strut top to gain a bit more, i have never tried doing that before so it will be interesting to see if its a positve efffect or not, pun intended.

I also have a mate of a mate who can lend me a full set of corner weighting scales, id been looking at getting a set but at 2k plus it was a bit out of the question. This will be great for both cars.

Looking forward to getting into some more work this week, as long as the parts arrive by friday.

Oh and a great win for lewis this weekend, well done, great driving all season!

So thanks to the brilliant guys at MCA Suspension i have some new rear springs for the s15 to test out. These arrived on thursday which is an impressively short amount of time to have them made and sent to me.

After much debating ive decided to sacrafice the air con vent to the right of the steering wheel to fit the plx dm-6 multi guage. I want to maintain a clean look so have dismantled and will modify the chrome vent to fit the guage. It looked like it would almost fit without trimming but it needs about a mm each side.

Oh well another vent sacraficed to the car gods. I am taking the exhaust off this week to have a bung fitted for the wideband o2 sensor, also looking at removing the first muffler in the kakimoto catback system. I dont want to but i really should for ground clearance, the car is not super low i only need about 15-20mm :(

Also sat the harness in the skyline to see how it looks, need to make the side mounts. Hmm.

Thanks mate appreciate the comments. I assume u prefer a cross flow intercooler to a turn flow or something else about the intercooler bugs you :)

Yeah Australia is pretty crazy on defects, as this is my street car i wanted to keep it fairly stealth and as legal as possible. The authorities have a big sook if u cut a hole under the battery area. I figured being an ARC design it should be good for about 250rwkw which is about as much as i want to go to keep turbo response up for the street and the budget down, mostly budget down :)

My skyline will be running a cross flow r34 Gtr cooler when i change to the rb2630dett, although it runs a trust turnflow at the momment.

Heres the guage mounted in the vent. I have left a gap so hot/cold air can still flow around the guage. Im really happy with how this turned out as i wasnt that keen on sticking a guage in a vent and blocking it off completely.

oh I see! Ya, California was the same way for me when I had a SR20 in my 240sx. the police would have taken the car and crushed it if they found out so we did everything we could to keep it stealthy. Ive been in Japan for about 3 years now and must have forgot about how other places treat modified vehicles. We really are spoiled over here.

No spare money this week, still managed to pick up and interior 6 x led light and an exhaust o2 fitting and bung for $36.

A few pics from today

I cut a hole with a right angle drill and holesaw. Then my mate welded it without having to remove the one piece front/dump pipe which saved me about an hour and a bit of swearing or lost skin.

This muffler in the kakimoto catback is just too big, i cannot run the car as low as id like. Ive had it in the workshop press today tryin to flatten it a bit and then ill push it closer to the tailshaft. I really dnt want to cut it out or run the car looking like a 4wd. I only need about 15-20mm so im pretty confident i can get it there.

More tomorrow i want the car back for the weekend, with a bit of luck fedex will deliver the last bit of electronics i need to do some tuning. Basically to put a analouge 0-5v into nistune via usb. Had to get it from the Usa.

Just finished the wideband install

Wrapped the connector in a rubber tube and zip tied to the gearbox crossmember. Drilled a hole forward of the gearstick in the floorpan to run the wires up to the sensor module. Used a rubber bung in the hole and double protected the wires by using convaluted tube where the wire passes through the bung :) looked oem almost

Idle

Glovebox install, not 100% finished yet. No doubt ill add some more plx sensors because its so easy and cheap at $99 a sensor.

Will be tring the new rear springs tomorrow :)

Oh also crushing the muffler has worked out well. I cut off the tabs and pressed it on both sides. The car now has 106mm clearance so its legal again, it was at about 85mm. In Aus thats something to be bloody relieved about, and no more scraping on speed bumps. Everywhere in aus.

Ive wanted to make carbon fiber replacements for the grey plastic areas of the standard steering wheel. I could stuff around and make moulds an do it, actually i should in the future but for now im going to try the 3M carbon wrap. Thinking about tring to do the matching bit on the standard gear knob. Looks like a tricky shape, but it would get rid of the last of the grey areas.

Real carbon fibre cloth vs 3M product.

Check the air fuel ratio as if you are on a dyno. Use the output from the wideband to put into the nistune engine tuning software. You adjust the fuel map then when you have a wideband o2 input it will pop up another window showing actual afr. You the adjust the target depending on the actual. Plug logging etc

Go on youtube and search for nistune. The top result should be a 10:31 video by nyc31 who explains it well. The video is called nistune real time tuning for nissans.
