Cheers guys :)

Dean - It needs to be quick as I'm going to Kenya again with work on Friday for 6 weeks and my car needs to be out of the workshop by then. Stress isn't the word! It was all supposed to be up and running this weekend as I was geting it aligned on Monday but the guy who polished the diff cover has put a big fat stop to that, unless he's working tomorrow which is unlikely :(

what did you have done to your heat shields mate? did you just have them plated - mine have a little rust on them etc so wasn't sure what to do with them......

Yeah, I had to take them to an industrial place to get done due to the size. Cost £20 to get them done which is a bit much, but I was in a rush. They are plated exactly the same as the other stuff but they dip it in something different (passivate?) at the end of the process for the colour and extra protection. The yellow passivate is more protective but I wanted it looking how it did out of the factory as much as I can. :)

:)

Well, i've spent 9 hours on it today and thankfully most of it is back together now. The fuel tank is back in, as are the heat shields, subframe, diff, adjustable arms, hub carrier, hubs,.. etc. I had a whoopsie when trying to press in one of the ball joints so the lower arms aren't on yet!!

The biggest problem though is the Z32 handbrake conversion. Does anyone have a picture of what it is supposed to look like as I can't work out what spring goes where..? I tried to go by the FAST parts catalogue diagram but it's not very clear at all.

Time for bed now and an early start tomorrow. I'll get some pics up when I get chance too :)

Yeah, that is helpful, but too late! :p Thanks anyway though :)

The spring at the top is stupid! It hooks into the hole but not like a spring normally would. The hook goes the wrong way. I've checked loads of pics and it is the way Nissan designed it - hard to explain until you do it. Also, the block thing at the top with the 27mm nut on the rear isn't designed for our hubs so it still spins when done up to the end of the thread. You will need a 3-5mm spacer (washer) with an internal hole of 20mm to shim it and hold it tight ;) Thanks to Mitch for that advice. Next top tip is to re-use the handbrake cable support from your original cables as the R33 ones don't really fit.

Needless to say, the car is done! Another 12-hour shift today saw it finished and back on the deck. Just looking at the massive K-Sport rear brakes makes it all worth while. I've lined the geometry up as good as I can by eye, so will take a nice slow drive to A-Line in Dudley to get it done tomorrow, weather permitting. And yes, I'm going to be really sad and never use it in the wet ever again! :D After all this work it would be wrong to.

I'll upload some pics tomorrow. Time for bed again!

that was bloody quick mate - remember i did say that the pivot needs a spacer behind it depending on what model you got it from, the r33 hubs i got i just cut off the lug on the top of the hub to fit behind it :)

looking forward to the pics mate, bet it looks stunning under there!

I didn't understand what you meant before Dean, but it makes sense now. The weathers crap today so I'm just going to do the finishing touches (fuel etc) and have it ready to go for tomorrow. Can't wait to have a drive now. just hope nothing falls off! I think I did everything up tight! :p

Ho man you have started something here! Firstly a credit to yourself you have done an amazing job to an already amazing example of an S15.
I will be picking up my pewter S15 Spec R on Saturday. And am now thinking of all-sorts of upgrades and alterations including the Z32 rear brake set up, and then K-sport all round. Then I look at this thread and Christ that looks good!!
I have the Nismo R-Tune bodykit and 17" Rays 57c Gram Lights fitted to mine, but I prefer your front bumper.. Very sleek and cool.
