^^ should be a easy sizing to run, you might want to go a lil smaller on the tire to make it easier, but I def wouldnt run overfenders with that size. Stick to your stock fenders, probably just need to roll and maybe a slight oh so very slight pull. Oh and a lil camber :)

The offset of the wheels would give a better idea...

This is a 9.5j on the rear of my car running a 265/35/18 Toyo R888 with an et 45 and it literally JUST fits with HSD coilovers wound down pretty low on stock arches with a roll.

The R888 does have a huge side wall though, so a wider tyre may be possible but it'd be cutting it close.

Hi guys, here is what my current running,

Wheels: Volk Racing GT-C
Size: 18x8 front and 18x9 rear
Offset: +42 front and +41 rear
Tyres: 225/40/18 front 245/40/18 rear
Spacers: NA
Suspension: Tein coilovers
Comments: no problem at all

Planning to run,

Wheels: Advan RG
Size: 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear
Offset: +37 front and +35 rear
Tyres: planning on 235/40 front and 255/40 rear

I was just wondering if the front wheels or tyres will rub the coilovers, may need a 5mm spacers just for the front? I don't think I'll have problem with the rears though. Please fill me in. Thx! :notworthy:

Hello,

I'm planning to change my stock wheels, but I can't figure what 18" rims fit the best a stock S15, with no modifications (no spacers, arch rolling, etc)
Moreover, these wheels should be compatible with a lowering (springs or coilover, I don't know yet).
I read the whole thread, but there are no cleat solution

What do you think of 18*8.5 (or 8 ?) +30 for both and front, with 225*40 tyres ?

Thank you :D

Hi,

Will 18*8,5 ET24 wheels fit with a stock suspension and no spacers ?
(225 40 18 tyres)

Could there be some issues with lowering ? (short springs or coilover)

Thank you

Edit : BTW, what is the bore diameter of the S15 ?
The wheels I'm looking for have a 72.62 bore. Do I need rings ?

Those offsets will clear coilovers but you will have issues with the arches without rolling them or adding camber. Centre bore is 66.1 on the s15 so you will need spigot rings ;)

Today I tested some wheels, on stock suspension : Rota Grid 18 x 8,5" ET20 with 225 40 18 Tires.

Nice look but big fail because the rear tires touch the arches on bumps or mid/high speed cornering. :wack:
ET's too low...

What is the offset limit with a stock suspension not to have some issues with rear arches ?
I would like to avoid adding too much camber, I don't really like how it looks, and it wears more the inside of the tires ...

Thank you

OK, so I took some measurement with these wheels.

With a 8,5" ET20, the inner clearance is the same as stock.
But the outer position is +50mm :D

Rear :

Inner clearance from the stock shock : 50mm
Outer position of the wheel from the exterior of the arche : about 25mm
With a 225 40 18 tire (which is streched on this rim), there is about about 14mm between the arche and the edge of the tire.

Obviously, the tires scratches the arches during cornering...

Front :

Inner clearance from the stock shock : 21mm
Outer position of the wheel from the exterior of the arche : about 24mm

No problem at all with a stock suspension.

So, will a 18 x 8.5 ET35 fit on rear ?
Maybe I should roll my arches...
Thank you

I'm looking at a set with these specs

18" 8.5J and 9.5J rears, ET30. Have 225/40/18 all round 5x114.3

assuming the front will be okay as thats what your running mike, just wondering if the rears will sit further out or further in than yours? Did you have to do anything to get yours to fit?

Nothing at all mate, fronts aren't miles away from the coil over but don't touch. Rears have tonnes of room, though I had the arches rolled for safety. Always get confused with et's but I think a 9.5 et30 would have the inner edge go further in, away from the arch. I think. A small spacer on the rear would pull them out a touch if needed.

Just got some 17'' Super Advan SA3R's +35 offset, only 7J and 8J and they don't fit over my front R32 GTR Non-Vspec calipers. Wasn't really expecting that...

Should I get some 5mm - 10mm universal type spacers? and where from? Don't want anything big, dont want to look toooo conspicuous!

Thanks

I have the same brakes and wheel widths as you - but my fronts are Enkei RP01s 17x7+30 and I have less than 1mm clearance to the calipers - so a 5mm slip on spacer might not be enough.

I'd go for an 8 or 10mm slip on spacer - but you should probably consider longer wheel nuts as well.

Seeking some advice on new wheels for my street driven S15. :)

Currently running standard wheels on standard 205/55/16 tyres (Kumho Ecsta) and standard suspension. I'd like to move up to some nice grippy 18s for excellent traction and an appealing stance.

I do have Whiteline front & rear sway bars and looking to add a Driftworks four arm kit for adjustability (tension rods, camber arms, toe rods, traction rods). I'd like to keep my standard ride height and suspension but haven't ruled out some BC BR or Parts Shop Max coilovers down the track if I can go very soft spring rates and maintain standard ride height.

From what I've read I should be able to run something like 18 by 8.5 (235/40/18) +32 (F) and 18 by 9.5 +38 (265/35/18) (R) on standard suspension.

I'm leaning towards Varrstoen 1.1.1 mesh wheels which are available in 9.5 or 10.5in widths and offsets in +12 and +22. Would a 9.5+22 front and 10.5+22 rear fit?
Wheels are likely to be Yokohama Advan Sport 235/40 (F) and 265/35 (R). I'd like to maximise traction and not stretch much if possible. This combo looks to keep my speedo within 2% of standard tyres. A nice aggressive stance with wheels in line with the standard arches is preferable too.

Any advice you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated. :)
