Haha, ok mate! That is my thinking too. If you don't ever use them just slap them on sxoc and they'll be gone in hours. I was trying to avoid starting any more groupbuys until the cooling panels have been done! :p I'll order them now - this ones easy!!

Just ordered them. It seems you pay the UK VAT to RockAuto before they send them, so shouldn't get charged on import. Total cost was £245.73, so £24.58 per ball joint.

:)

The Driftworks rear lower arm bushes have very bad fitment. Firstly the metal insert it too large and needs to be machined down by 1mm so that it will fit into the bushes without mushrooming them out. Then getting in into the subframe is a pain in the arse and the arm just ends up binding.

i managed to get them in with the insert mate as a test fit, but i will need to trim a little off the ends to stop it binding is all ;)

Really? What did you use to get the insert in?

This is what kept happening to me:

Yep they require some trimming, but TBH the bushes shouldn't need any trimming as they should be manufactured correctly so that they fit perfectly. It seems that everyone has to trim the bushes down, so maybe they should make them to a better standard.

i totally agree, if its an ongoing thing that every set needs trimming then its the mould that needs trimming not the item.....
but, i've accepted that they need a little trim and aren't to bothered by it as the rest of thier bushes (control arms, subframe etc) test fitted fine :)

Yep that rest of the bushes fit perfectly, I just had a problem with getting the rear lower arms in and with the arm binding. I also had a problem with the front arms binding.

What did you use to insert the bushes? Did you use a lubricant?

fairy liquid to test fit mate, works every time and shouldnt do any harm. i have a pot of bush assembly lube that energy sent me with my other bushes so may use that when it comes to final fitting.....

What's the amount of work required to swap for uprated engine mounts guys? I deffo want this sorted as well but may ask same garage to do the job whilst they sort the front lower arm ball joints cos I really don't have the time/patience at the mo!! :wack:

Cheers

for a garage its easy mate, it would be a case of undoing the top nuts on the mounts, putting it in the air, then supporting the engine and gearbox on tranny supports. then you can drop the crossmember enough to change them out. home job requires jacking the engine off the mounts and manouevering them into position.......
here is a how to from sxoc

They look a bit fiddly but not too bad - depends how rusty your nuts are too :) Probably a lot easier on a ramp.
