yep, they aren't far from me, used to be based round the corner from my house :) got feedback on the other kits already, apparently they are well made, but poorly finished...still holding out for this one anyway (and if i get it i will take pics of it fitted before paint lol, if not, i may take a chance on a cheaper kit but i'd rather not

The thing with cheaper kits is they cost more to fit so ends up costing the same if not more,I know a company called uv worldwide do a lang replica kit for 400 notes, but if you can get an original kit cheap its gotta be worth paying the extra in the knowledge its gonna be genuine nice fit off the bat!

right - update time.

the vertex kit that sumo power told me was a lang was actually a ridge minus the quarters and wings....anyway i passed on that, but...... i got in contact with the guy that makes the vertex lang replica kits and paid him a visit. i was very impressed and am now waiting on a vertex lang kit with extra carbon fibre reinforcement on all the mounting points, on the back of the front bars and all the vulnerable areas. hopefully that will be with me by next week and the test fit will be underway not long after.

i need to ask a friendly person if they could look under thier car for me and take a look at the prop centre bearing mount. it's in two halves and i need to know whether or not the slotted section faces down or the smooth side, so if anyone subscribed to this wouldn't mind having a look for me that would be great ;)

fuel and brake lines are back on, fuel tank is back on as are the filler and breather pipes, i broke the top cover but thanks to james and jap performance parts i have another coming so it's not too big a setback...

exhaust had been cleaned by me prior to putting it in the loft, but hand polishing will never get it 100% so i popped in to my friendly local polisher and he gave it a machine polish while i waited so thanks again to gs polishing, rochester, kent

engine subframe is off and new apex street mounts have been fitted and i also removed the springs from my tein coilovers to be powder coated as the original coating had come off on the bottom coils. i also got fed up with the fan shroud making it so tight to work on the car so removed it and fitted an apex alloy fan shroud and twin electric fans, this will allow me to rework the re-circ pipework and will make it generally easier to work in there. the last of the stuff is with the coaters now and should be done within the week then its assembly time :)

pics to follow tomorrow.....

and thank you allan for the info on the guy . i've also got him modifying a cooling panel for me as the original won't work with the vertex bumper not having a front edge to mount it to....

i'll still be using energy bushes mate, just black instead of red :) haven't quite started building the frame up yet, just waiting to get the apex arms clearcoated in powdercoat as the painted surface is a bit brittle.....

exhaust had a spruce up by the polishing man

apex twin fans and shroud

apex/hardrace 'street' engine mounts fitted, gearbox mount has been on a while

having seen low cars sut through thier wiring loom, i thought there'd be no harm in relocating it in case i wanted to go lower in future

fuel lines, breathers and tank back on, bling heat shields on

thats it for now, but i have loads going on so should be a whole flurry of updates soon :)

i did mate, but as i haven't got a compressor i used rattle cans of tetrosyl black stonechip and a top layer of the hammerite/waxoyl stonechip.
edit: and a brush coat of electrox primer beforehand :)

Is that tetrosyl stuff meant to be any good then? Im going to use Electrox but still havent decided what to put on top its either going to be Dynax UB, 3M stuff or something else..
