right - update time.
the vertex kit that sumo power told me was a lang was actually a ridge minus the quarters and wings....anyway i passed on that, but...... i got in contact with the guy that makes the vertex lang replica kits and paid him a visit. i was very impressed and am now waiting on a vertex lang kit with extra carbon fibre reinforcement on all the mounting points, on the back of the front bars and all the vulnerable areas. hopefully that will be with me by next week and the test fit will be underway not long after.
i need to ask a friendly person if they could look under thier car for me and take a look at the prop centre bearing mount. it's in two halves and i need to know whether or not the slotted section faces down or the smooth side, so if anyone subscribed to this wouldn't mind having a look for me that would be great
fuel and brake lines are back on, fuel tank is back on as are the filler and breather pipes, i broke the top cover but thanks to james and jap performance parts i have another coming so it's not too big a setback...
exhaust had been cleaned by me prior to putting it in the loft, but hand polishing will never get it 100% so i popped in to my friendly local polisher and he gave it a machine polish while i waited so thanks again to
gs polishing, rochester, kent
engine subframe is off and new apex street mounts have been fitted and i also removed the springs from my tein coilovers to be powder coated as the original coating had come off on the bottom coils. i also got fed up with the fan shroud making it so tight to work on the car so removed it and fitted an apex alloy fan shroud and twin electric fans, this will allow me to rework the re-circ pipework and will make it generally easier to work in there. the last of the stuff is with the coaters now and should be done within the week then its assembly time
pics to follow tomorrow.....
