Good News Folks! This Sunday Morning Convoy cum breakfast 20th July is ON! Plan of attack :

1) Meet at 8am in Ampang Point - Pelita Nasi Kandar for breakfast. Tel Nos. below if not sure of the venue.
2) We will be leaving by 8.30am latest before 9am on a convoy to Sg Tekali and beyond.
3) Make sure fill up your "GO juice" (in case no stations in the Kampungs).
4) Bring a change of clothes (in case you guys want to go for a dip at the water falls).
5) Possibly a semi-pro photographer will be arranged. Also possible feature in Hypertune (finger crossed).

Was searching for the above info just now. So I thought I'd quote it again for ppl like me just now.

Guys, where is Ampang point and how do I get there ? lol

one8t,

Heard Optimus Prime is organising a semi-pro photographer for a small fee. He mentioned about RM10 per head which we can take it to Murali for a feature in the car club section. I did this before for Nismoclub. So if anybody bringing Gf, all the better - can pose with the cars LOL.

Nick,

Along Jln Ampang (Embassy area), you will find a tall building call Ampang Point on your left. Once you are around there, just give me a ring, I'll guide you over hopefully.

For those who are around PJ/Subang/Sunway/Klang area, there is a meeting point at Petronas/Shell station opposite Eastin Hotel (sec 17) at 7.30am. There are about 3 to 5 cars meeting there. If you dont see us, just head straight to Ampang Point.

If you are not with us, you are behind us.

Here's some shots from my camera, what we came for...

Taking a breather by the lake...

Checking out the cars...

Here guys, say hi...

I had one hand on the wheel and one hand out of the car.

Bt Jalil photoshoot.

There was actually a drift session if you noticed the crowd at the back...

The semi-pro photographers at work...

Shanker's rare Autech S15

My trip meter read 180km travelled <whistle>. I was tired too but contented. Definately must do this again.

Hei ya Spux... nice to have met you. You poke-poke my back side I think I need to up my boost above 1 bar edi next round... :rotfl: Hard time cleaning off the brake dust that evening. Was still thinking about the wangan when I retire to bed that night. <third gear - forth gear - pedals - brakes> ha ha ha

Hey Gunner,

The backside poking was pretty fun eh? but wasnt really poking la, need beefier brakes (like Chin's) to properly poke, crashing into fellow friends car is real anti climax...

But i really need to do some anti lagging measures to my car la, el Diablo spools damn fast man, he's at full boost before my turbo even wakes up...

Nonetheless, very good fun the whole day, pity the car though, nice winding road, but a bit too uneven, suspension like want to tear out of the mounting only...

Cheers

Sorry cant capture all of your cars with my limited focus on photography that day. What you can expect is that the semi-pro ones should have more. He should have at least some angles of your car taken especially in the morning session. Will get Optimus Prime to follow up and will try to post some here.

Thanks to all your participation and good spirits especially those who brought Gf along, with all the unpleasant twisty stretches and G-forces.

Absolutely agree!... I think Arun tekan only 50% because he had one hand out of the window doing the wave thing presumably getting more downforce. :rotfl: I have seen his dyno chart, he max his boost at 3000 rpm la wei. He should instead give us a 30 sec head start. He should start with the R34 behind us yeah???? :wack:

Cant wait for the next wangan, short sprints round straight roads this time?

True true, but Arun's suspension is soft and comfy, not really suitable to the kind of grass eating turns we're doing (or I'M doing as i was told).

And somehow i feel that the R34 wasnt tekanning at all :ghey:

Great fun all in all, waiting for the pictures... and pity the missus, da fact that she did not vomit:hurl:is a miracle in itself.

Hehe, mayb we could do some highway convoy, with short sprints along the NS high, hehe give my turbo a chance to kick in la.

For the discerned on vehicle handling dynamics to overcome understeer (front tyre slip) or oversteer (rear tyre slip), here some bits I'd compiled -

1) Front spring rate increase - More understeer
2) Rear spring rate increase - More oversteer
3) Front ARB stiffer - More understeer
4) Rear ARB stiffer - More oversteer
5) Front higher tyre pressure - Less understeer
6) Rear higher tyre pressure - Less oversteer
7) Front more negative camber - Less understeer
8) Rear more negative camber - Less oversteer
9) Front toe out - Car turns better but twitchy under braking & wonders on straights
10) Front toe in - Car stable going straight
11) Rear toe out - Helps turning but rocking & lift throttle oversteer
12) Rear toe in - Less lift throttle oversteer
13) Front positive caster - helps stability, more -ve camber turning hence (7)
14) Reduce positive caster - reduce steering effort (-ve caster not usable)
15) Stiffer shocks - better transient response
15) Softer shocks - slower transient rsponse
