I honestly dont know man. Like seriously have no idea. This is what i was told, 2 Stage turbo and it shows on the graph where the turbo peak's.. levels, then peak's again? Im uploading the pics now and i'll post here.

this was my first ever RR due to the fact i was always told you can go to 5 RR in one day and get totally diff results from each one, hence why i haven't ever bothered. But since it was a club day out i went along. Im missing 60bhp :wack:

i've never heard of a 2 stage turbo.

that is true about 5 different results, but it's not likely to fluctuate by 60bhp.

but, a boost leak will loose you power.

Now im just away to show the results, Basically i dont know what it is all exactly so took snaps of all of it.

The guy said the following..

1. I need to adjust my timing
2. Car is running fine
3. Boost has been turned down to around 0.6bar (8psi)
4. I have a 2 stage turbo - and its not been working till now
5. Clutch is fine
6. I need a boost controller
7. I need new leads

now as i said this dosnt mean a great deal to me really, all i know is that its not right. Or i feel it should be more as from what i 'thought' s15's were 250bhp at the fly standard.. So if it is a boost leak then it'll be a case of getting new hoses etc etc. Im uploadin the boost pic again as its not working i see..

by the looks of your boost graph.your boost is not right. it should rise to the set pressure at about 3-3.5rpm then hold that pressureup to redline...

as said could be boost leak.

i would not expect it to reach full 250bhp at all if your boost not working right, also have to consider the fuel you have over there and in japan.

but 60bhp is alot.that about 10bhp lose a year :wack:
a badly looked after engine and abuse would certianly see power drop..

Is it a bit unusual to get it RR'd in 4th gear? i thought 5th was 1:1 in an S15:confused:
Im sure it will have compensated for it anyway:nod:

again i have no clue. I did always think that it was 1 down from top, i.e. 5th but im no expert lol.

As for the fuel, yes that was taken into consideration, Running Vpower with Octane Booster. Need it sorted tho, feels so much quicker tho. But imo.. quicker than 190hp...

Also i dont know if it makes any diff, but its a 4wd RR and the dude's there Specialise in Evo's. Now there were only 2 RWD cars there, mine and an Automatic Skyline (RB25 Single Turbo - With Low Boost, Ex, Unkown BOV+Filter and an Overdirve button?) And it produced 249hp. So unless the road wasnt set up correctly for RWD and it was slipping?

is this possible or am i just pickin for excuses now?
thanks folks.

the fact that it's 4WD won't matter, the dyno will dis-engage the front dyno and then compensate for transmission losses etc.

as for 2 stage turbo, my mate had a T16 pug, the turbo on that had "over boost". It had 2 actuators to work that though. The way that turbo was "built"... there's no way it'd fit down in the S15 bay with the 2 actuators.

Boost leak is probably the most expained result. do a leak test.

get a compressor plumb it into your intercooler system, then take the hot pipe off at the turbo end and the cold pipe at the throttle body end.... bung with a spray can's or the alikes... start pumping it up! :)

Errr, how was it turned down without any form of boost controller? Even so 8psi is pretty weak.

You dont need octane booster + VPower. Plain VPower at 99RON is perfectly adequate.

2 stage turbo :wack: get a pic of your engine bay up, I smell some bull****.

AND WHAT IS WITH THE GREEN ZIP TIE'S????

There is evidence to show the car has been fitted with a whole heap of cool devices at some point in his life over in japan. i.e. Wires + Marks where Turbo Timers / Controllers etc etc could have sat, So there is NOTHING to say it wasnt adjusted further more removed, would explain the reason for removing the OEM A Piller and no boost gauge when i bought it?.. who knows.

Vpower's 99 Ron is still down on what the car was originally ran on over in Japan, So adding Octane booster does it no harm mate, Its not something i do often but every little helps.

Yeah i'll snap a shot of the bay see what you folks think like. As for the Tie wraps.. mad tyte Minty Fresh stylie credit

Vpower/Tesco 99 is more than adequate for running under 0.8 bar (11psi). Adding octane booster is a total waste of money. You'd be better putting the money towards a remap. That's after you've sorted the boost problem, of course.

This is why i was happy with mine being completely standard...

I think you need to start from bottom up mate, check all piping, solonoid, actuator etc etc, its going to need a trial of elimination on all the turbo asociated components as you really dont know what might have been messed about with.

Yeah too true, I didnt say Vpower wasnt any use, its what iv been using since i bought the car however it does the car no harm in the slightest putting in Octane Booster. That was the first time iv done it (Last sat) And it was fine.

Yeah when im back from Japan i'll get it booked in to get this leak sorted if thats what the problem is. Get a controller and get it back up to what it should be.

Nevermind the 0.55bar (8psi) that he's getting at the moment.

Nicely, 0.8bar (11psi) is stock boost isnt it?

Just a case of sorting the leak, they won't of turned it down. Why not attempt to fix it yourself by doing some research on here or SXOC. Will learn more about the car that way.

You should be making more power than that.
As already been mentioned. Check all hoses and pipes for leaks and also check your IC for cracks.

Could be your BOV too. Is it adjustable?
Do you have any boost controller at all? Check that the solenoid is in place at the passenger side strut. People usually remove it when they fit a EBC and don't put it back when they sell the car and have removed the EBC.

If it was a leak, why would the boost dip off then rise again?

Mint, i wouldnt worry about the reading to much, i had my car there and got 266bhp, which is around 50bhp down on where i should be  i went with an SXOC RR day, most of the guys readings were fine, but mine was low......

Was holding boost steady at 17psi, so no leaks for me, dont knwo what went wrong.

Had the car on the Rollers at Japerformance, and got 270bhp, that was with stock boost, FMIC and cat back exhaust only..... So by upping the boost (0.8bar to 1.2bar), fitting bigger injectors (740cc), 3" turbo back system, along with other mods, and getting it mapped and setup properly, i managed to loose 4bhp :wack: :D
