Glad to hear the business is doing well mate and hope you are well yourself. Way more important than the car anyway, it'll get done and when it does it will be immense!

Cheers dude : hope you are well too ! It’s been a long while man , have to catch up at some point .
Yeah that’s the thing while I have lots of work and getting a lot of attention I may as well make the most of it . Expanding the business taking on staff and hoping to move to a new unit by the end of the year . Be looking at importing parts and cars next year then and moving a second business if all goes to plan!
Hopefully get mine done this year still as it’s not far off really but getting the business where I want is taking priority , need to pay for everything ha ha ha

Got my prop here ready to go off for modification now .
Not many parts left for the build it’s just a case of finding the time to make it happen really!

Finally had the new an fittings welded onto my spare cam cover , blocked off the unused parts and got it painted .
Had a bit of fun with it , just trying to decide whether to do the lettering gold or polished now .

The guys building my engine found some light scores in the bore so rather than risking it we have decided to bore it out and go to 90mm pistons rather than 89.5 now .

Hoping to have some proper updates soon as the engines all stripped down being cleaned and inspected

think it needs more flake IMO

I was struggling to work out what looks different about the cover then remembered its for a VET head and not an SR. Does 90mm make this a 2.2 now?

Ha ha was trying not to go too ott with the flake as it can look a bit tacky , there is plenty on there anyway can see it better in videos but don’t know how to upload vids ?

Yeah is a 2.2 89.5 makes it 2.2 which was the original plan but rather be safe and not risk it even though the marks are proper minor .

Love this build.

What's the full specs of the VET?
Thanks man I’m hoping it will be pretty special when it’s all finished.

So off the top of my head ( may forget some bits)

Darton sleeved block bored to 89.5mm
89.5mm Carrillo pistons
Carrillo pro h rods with carrs bolts
Acl bearings
Oil channels machined for increased flow
1/2” studs
Ve head cnc machined combustion chamber and port matched
Head also machined for better oil flow
Mazworx Cylinder head oil feed relocation kit to put the vvl solenoids in the right position for rear wheel drive
Custom 36-1 trigger disc setup mounts onto ati super damper, replaces the cas as the primary trigger sensor and eliminates spark scatter.
Modified vvl cas to allow full sequential cam triggering
Custom neo vvl oil pump sump pic up to allow sr16ve n1 oil pump to be used on sr20det block
Naprec strengthened timing chain
Supertech oem size valves
Supertech stem seals
Supertech valve springs and retainers
Supertech guides
Custom cams with greddy cam gear
M&w ignitor with Denso coil on plug

About all I can remember ha ha I will add more to it as it gets built but it’s been going on so long now hard to think ha ha

I don’t think there’ll be anything quite like it, that’s for sure!
Ha ha that wasn’t my intention really I’m just building what I have always wanted the car to be ha ha but along the way it’s got a bit out of hand but hopefully all works well and comes together to be a one off

If I had an unlimited budget there’s stuff I’d love to do but I’m happy with wheels and coilovers and some stickers for now

Ha ha man I do sometimes wish I had just built what I had and enjoyed it ! I had a solid 500hp set up ready to go on but sold it to do this 🤣🤣 I don’t have mega funds which is why it’s taking so long, especially as I started my business at the same time I took this off the road ha ha just hope it’s worth the wait !
