The luck with this car never ceases to amaze me. I've had a boost issue that will only allow me to run 1.3-1.4 bar. I pressurised the intake system with 10 bar off of the air compressor at work and found two boost leaks. I fixed them and the car still only makes that pressure. I've adjusted the throttle cable to see if it had come loose...

I finally logged the car today with a mate and no matter what we did we couldn't get the ecu to run more boost, we maxed out the boost control settings and it still ran the same pressure. I made a call to an in the know Evo mapper and told him everything I'd done over the past few weeks, checks wise. It turns out the boost control solenoid has packed up! This car does my ****ing nut in! Lol

At least it still managed 114mph terminals on **** boost and a missed gear change. I'm more happy that it's only £50 to fix rather than thousands this time.

Fixed it :D. I can undoubtedly say the solenoid had failed pre mapping as its so quick I just came back from the test drive shaking, lol. Going straight back to pod to get into the mid 11's I think

Mate, its so quick I can't believe it. I'm going to have to log the car again to check the map to make sure its not running lean. Honestly, it feels like its gained 150 to 200bhp from running 1.4 bar. Its quite a bit faster than the night it was mapped too, so god knows what sort of power its actually making. It made me grin though, not done that for well over a year of owning this car.

I might get it to pod next weekend as I've got too much running around to do this Saturday and I've got a Halloween party in the evening. Although next Saturday is a mates birthday party that's starting early too, so I'll have to go down morning time. I really hope it's not as busy next time I go, it ruins the day just sitting in a queue.

its now at the stage where I'll get some videos of it. it's ****ing mental and there's a lot of unintentional limiter action because I'm not used to such a quickly accelerating car again. It does sound pretty bloody awesome though :D

Might try one later, mate. I brought it into work this morning and it was spinning all four wheels through 2nd gear, lol

Haha, no mate. I barely use the car anymore. It sits in the car park doing nothing for weeks on end. I take it out every now and then to blow the cobwebs off it, it's going up for sale very soon. I did want to put a bigger turbo on it and go for 600bhp+ but I just can't be bothered to spend anymore money on it. I'd rather get on my fixed gear bike and cycle somewhere now, got quite into my fitness after being single :D

Pod re-opens again soon so I'll take it back up there before it goes to prove it'll do 11 second 1/4's easily.

It's a good giggle to drive. It will wheel spin all the way through 4th in the wet, which is quite an experience on the motorway :D. It spins through 2nd in the dry aswell, lol. No plans to replace it with anything if I'm honest, I think I'll save the money this time, I was looking at Porsche 911's in a big way last year but stopped. I may just see if anything comes up after it's gone rather than plan the next car out. A mate just bought an R32 GTR and he's telling me to get one aswell but I don't want to modify my next car or spend big money.

Sounds like fun ha ha
Yeah I have been proper perving over porkers myself man love em!
Also got very tempted to a 32 recently but resisted temptation as I want to finish the 15 .
Would be nice to have a car that's quick and fun but drivable every day, why I was looking at Porsches they good all rounders :D

Well, went to Santa Pod and ruined the clutch, lol. I got a mate to take a video. You can hear me struggling getting into 3rd big time with the prolonged break off full throttle here

the clutch slipped big time on the next run, I initially thought it was wheel spin as the car normally breaks traction in 2nd in the dry...

A new ACT heavy duty paddle clutch rated to 650ft lbs has been fitted with a brand new lightened flywheel but I've got to bed it in, so no heavy use yet. This seems to be the last part of the puzzle before I sell up, everything is new but I've got my eye on something else. It almost seems a waste!

Atleast we heard it finally though! As you say it does seem a waste but that's what we do with cars. We always tidy or finish them off to sell and then go dam I wish I'd done that earlier!

What you thinking next?

I'm looking at loads of things at the moment, Sam. Although top of the list is a BMW Z4 M coupe just to be sensible for a bit.
