Hey guys, i took my window motor out today to find that the brushes are f****cked. Even if I found new ones to fit, one of the arms to hold it is half missing!

After some searching I found one that would work but not with the auto function. Instead I noticed that 350z motors look almost identical except for the external gear (maybe the wiring connector too but i can't remember).

I think I can swap that whole section with the brushes and arms into the s15 motor

Just ordered two from Amazon, has anyone tried the same?

Wow, I have not heard of fitting this. The original part is ridiculously overpriced:

At that price point, I'd do the same as you. Let us know how it turns out!

Was at this all morning and got it working but it's not easy. They look similar on the outside but inside everything is different and nearly every part has been altered by 1-2mm. B@stards

My original hope was to swap the 350z brush section into the s15 motor but thats impossible so all I could do was cut the s15 gear off it's shaft and weld it to the 350z shaft (grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't 😅)

S15 on the left, 350z on the right

The housing has a lip (circled in red) that should fit into a hole on the bracket that holds the glass but the 350z lip is too large in diameter so that needs to be reduced so the motor housing won't crack when bolted to the bracket.

The connector is different but the motor's wiring is the exact same. Ignore wire colors as they are different. Just trace the original ones and you'll see what should join to what. The auto function still works too.

The mounting holes are slightly different. If you were to mount the motor the exact same as the s15 motor you'd only be able to use 2 mounting screws. You could use all 3 if you rotate the motor 90 degrees but that might affect your ability to push the black button on the silver plate once it's inside the door. (That is for calibrating the limit points I believe)

All in all I'm very happy with it. Smooth motion, no weird noises and mountains of money saved. Shame it's not as easy as expected
