Wow... Crazy numbers, i'm interested to see what the Dyno guru's think of the results and the correction factor....

I was concerned that the Sonic Power Funnel would be restrictive, did you get these figures with the sonic power still fitted or did you run a different air filter?

I'm going to look into the Fcon map switch issue, i'm intending to run a relay set up so that when the 'Failsafe' triggers, it triggers a relay that diverts the switch position to the other map input on the Fcon, basically doing the same job as a manual switch, electricaly it's not difficult to do this, the only thing I don't know is if the maps can be switched when the ECU is running or do you have to powerdown and then change maps? If you can switch maps with the car running, then for sure you can use the FailSafe to switch maps rather than opening the wastegate or dropping boost.

Do you have any Dyno pics?

pics tomorrow. I have seen the graph, again with a pinch of salt.

dyno done with another blitz intake. very similar to the sonic power, i think larger and without the heatsheild.

I think u can read the aem forum again, there is indeed a thread about the connections and use of relay. If i did not recall wrongly, i still think, it cannot switch map. The relay was meant to turn off the boost.

Cheers, would be good to see the dyno even if with a pinch of salt, any thoughts about getting just a power run from another dyno to see how they compare? should cost to much to get a couple of runs on the Dyno, would be amazing if they are similar.. Makes me think about changing my entire project if the dyno similar, lol :)

I'm getting a Snow Performance water/meth and the 'Failsafe' from them has the usual boost drop, wastegate closing and timing retard options but also a relay contact output for what ever use you need and it's this output i'm going to use for the map switch.

If the AEM system turns off the boost it probably does it via a soleniod to cut the boost signal or it shuts the waste gate again via a soleniod, my question is if it can send a signal to these devices to cut the boost, why can't the same signal be used to open a contact in a relay that's then used to switch the maps?

Well, if the AEM forum says it can't be done perhaps there right, just seems a bit strange to me, i'll see what the score is with the Snow Performance set up on mine, bit of a wait though, mine's not being fitted until the new year....

Anyway, thanks for the update. Have to look around at other air filters now :(

ok went for another dyno today to get to the bottom of this. This dyno should be more accurate (or notoriously low). Runs on rollers. They swear by their figures becasue they do alot of testing on stock cars (mainly hondas) and roughly matches factory given numbers.

I got 336whp. To convert this number, add 15 per wheel (cos i am running 18inches, thats hell alot) which makes it 366, then multiply by 1.25. which gives 460hp. this is on high boost 1.7-1.8 bar.
Previous tune without all the new goodies reads 395 but at 1.4 bar. So i think the gain is not big if i had done it at the same boost. The significant and intangible gains honestly (I feel) is on the cooling, turbo response & torque.

Torque at the wheels about 50kg/m (490nm).

Anyway the power figure I wanted (generously over 400) is met, thats job done on power side.

Next to upgrade a few parts like the
-rotors
-radiator(cracked but mended)
-carbon fan shroud(bling factor)
-suspension (any recommendations? need really hard ones)
-ikeya arms, rods, camber etc full set. This is really on my wishlist just that they are rather expensive, could work out to be around £2800 excl shipping.

But for now, i am going to just enjoy the car first, take it easy, overspent since the start of this year.

A problem to sort out as well, which is car occasionally stalls on clutching in. Going at 30miles (slow speed), clutch in, rev drops to 300 and car stalls... sometimes it picks up from 300, sometimes it just stalls. I am idling at 900-1000. Think its the idle valve control or tps. got a 2nd hand idle valve, so will have a go and see if it helps.

Got ikeya front pillow lower arms - these are creaking badly as the pillow ball has worn.

also got the BC ER coils 8/6 spring rates, after reading good things about BC on various forums. I think would be value for money cos its like their top spec coils
and costs 1150quid incl installation. Think at this price, u get mid range specs from the other big brands?

cannot get enough of upgrading the car.... it seems to be an addiction. honestly, my project is almost done and i have diffiuclty finding more things to upgrade.
wanted to take advantage of black friday sale online, but couldnt f anything meaningful.... wth how can it be....
wonder if u guys have the same feeling....

anyway, next up, (and i feel uncessary again for the sake of doing something to it...) Im getting brembo rotors, and changing the rear to 2 pot brembos and doing a refurb and spray to candy red (hopefully matching my rims).

also got 4 limited edition TE37s in diamond blk as spare drift rims. these are 2nd hand and got 4 for 900 quid, i think it is reasonable considering the prices of these have gone up.

pictures will be up soon.

Top price on the TE37s, I've got my mind fixed on a set of TE37SLs for mine, just need to get some wider front wings to fit the 9" fronts thought.

I had a good trawl through the Black Friday sales, same as you, nothing of interest. Get your brakes done and it will push me to do mine, there still sitting in a box gather dust at the mo.

Merry Christmas....

hahaha, erm 9" erm...

I'm still in the states, looks like another year now, won't be back in the UK until at least 2013.. Been a bit slow recently with Christmas and all that, but I can't keep just buying parts, need to get some of the damn stuff fitted, lol

Will push on with the project in January (Brakes first)... Will post some updates over Christmas...

have a good one...

I was lazy to update, heres a few pix of the brakes and more photos of the 15.

Front brakes

Rear brakes

I am not too happy these still. And am considering a full "Endless" conversion seriously, but they are freaking steep.....sigh.

A few more pix with the TEs at the rear.

1 month back, i installed an easy car alarm system. It features keyless entry, push button start, remote start, and windscreen knock system (number code) to gain entry should the key be misplaced.
This seems to eat up some battery.

I am back in the UK for the next 2 months. And have sent the car in to my regular garage to have the battery relocated to the back and changed to a varta silver dynamics(which is also a bigger battery).

Also to have my idle valve and throttle cleaned as the idle's getting rough. I cannot have the car stall on me on the motorway, because my push start requires me to have the handbrake and footbrake up
inorder to start.

Also to fix the aem fail safe as it is not plotting the spray graph. Could be a wrong connection or something. I don rely on this anyway, but use it only to see the spray on the spray guage.

Hi James thanks for the kind words.

Got a few updates. I should have sorted my idle issues, changed a IACV, TPS, and Okadas. Moved my battery to the back and changed to Varta Blue Dynamics. Wanted the silver but out of stock.

I start with a few pictures of the Easy Car alarm.
This is the Push start button that comes with it.

This is the passcode unlock, by knocking on the windscreen. So if the code is 2345, just knock on the windscreen when 2 gets lighted up, then knock on 3 when it lights up and so on.

Here the battery moved

Engine Bay again without battery and with OKADAs hehehe

Now the following pictures could shock you as i think i could have over done this. Subjective matter haha...

cabin lights

"devil eyes" lights when door opens

lighted lightning logo, hids and 2 red lights that are between the hids (dont know what these lights are called)

rear quarter panel lights (refered to as tunnel lights by the lighting shop...)

undercarriage, fender lights

Some more pics of the car under normal circumstances

sorry for the big pictures and thanks for viewing. =)
