Water Ingress

Think i have found the problem :wave:

Where the wires go through the firewall into the cockpit ghey on the drivers side, i have a slit in the bottom of the rubber, just below that there is a small ledge (edge of the rubber) the water gathers on the ledge and once it fills high enough it goes through via this slit and comes down past the back of some fuses etc and ends up on the floor

Got to find some way to cover the rubber around the wires to stop the water, any ideas??

All this wouldnt happen if i had arch linings :rolleyes

:nod: I put a few patches of Kitchen roll in the footwell to see where got wet 1st, then i took the pressure washer and shot it backwards into the wheels arch in the dircetion the water would travel, did this for about a minute (as you suggested ) looked in the car, the floor, parts of the dash the door panel were all wet, the floor was soaking

I put my hand in under the arch and instantly found a slice in the rubber which was very easy to penetrate (keep it clean :ghey: ).

Where do i seal?? Just around the slice of the whole area??

I would just do over the slice. You may need to use it for something else and need to take it off again.

Oh, and don't spray water for more than 10 seconds or so...

I would stay away from Silicone (transparent version).
It is supposed to make things rust.

Do a search on any car forum and you should get some info.

S i need a form of sealent to seal Rubber, but not silicon sealer as it can make things rust.
