Update - Its fixed! 
I took the passenger door card off and removed the switch...couldnt see anything obvious so put it back together...drivers one stopped working altogether so took the controls out from that side...nothing obvious.
Then later today had another look as the lock button on the drivers side to lock the doors stopped working so I took the control panel out again and checked the connection and it came out to easy...hmmm wonder if it was loose? Put it pack in nice and tight and hey presto drivers window worked again and so did passenger :nod:
Glad it was that simple! First time I looked though the connection seemed fine..must have been slightly out causing intermittent problems.
