my rescued SpecR was parked for 7yrs.
It has issues but it’s generally fine. I’m working thru things, wins and losses so far. Over heating a little. Difficult start. Etc.
I’m playing it cautious, keeping drive distances short, revs moderate and listening for symptoms (and finding them)
One thing has me stumped.
Once hot, there’s a groaning sound coming up thru the steering when I steer left. Not hard left but just any leftward steer.
It’s not the usual psteer whine and not a scraping or grinding sound but just a groaning sound, almost harmonic. And only begins after the car is hot up front.
Wheel bearings feel and sound fine.
Could still be the steering pump, I guess, but I’m interested to know if anyone has experienced similar.
