On the OEM rear lights, are both bulbs for the side lights supposed to light up the second filament when you brake, or just one bulb on each side as I can't remember?
Cheers

There has to be people active on here with the OEM rear lights.

All I want to know is, when the brake pedal is pressed, do both bulbs on either side illuminate, or just the outside bulb?

Shouldn't be too difficult for someone to go check, help much appreciated

I don't have standard lights but they use the same bulbs, both of mine come on when the pedal is pressed.

Shame It isnt dark but hope this is clear-ish!

Cheers dude, yeah forgot to mention standard bulbs not necessarily standard lights.
Hmm that does answer my question but not the one I was after, mine only seem to light up the outside bulb on each side, however the side lights work fine on both bulbs?

That is strange, yours have the fog light in standard don't they? Could it be possible they're wired up slightly differently? Clutching at straws there hoping something isn't going wrong! :/

Yeah I have the standard fog from the factory.

Basically decided to go back to the standard lights, as got a bit bored of the D-MAX LED ones for now, and when refitting noticed that the brake light wasn't working on both bulbs... but after thinking about it, I don't think the D-MAX ones worked on both sets of LED's for the brake lights  I never really thought about it but maybe I have a wiring issue somewhere.

Both bulbs definitely come on when the sidelights are on though, its just the second filament inside the bulb that doesn't

In Both OEM rear lights, there are the following bulbs:

-1 bulb for night light
-1 bulb for night light with brake light in it
-1 bulb for reverse
-1 bulb for side indicator

You'll see i mensioned the first 2 bulbs with night light, both will glow when turned on the lights, only on of them will glow harder when you brake.

I see you wanna go back to OEM lights, i want to buy D-Max Led, maybe we can arrange something?

That's what mine do, but Mike's above doesn't as they both glow. Both bulbs are 7443 "Dual Filament" bulbs so both should glow brighter when braking.

I am keeping the D-MAX Led lights unfortunately

It depends if both have an brake wire, maybe mike's are looped.
My brake lights are on only one bulb, not both in the same rearlight.

And no problem mate

Weird.

I've got 2 sidelights per cluster, and 2 brake lights per cluster.

So total 4 rear sidelights, and 4 brake lights.

Just gives for better looks and visibility. :)

I presume you mean the brake light and sidelights are on the same two bulbs?

So 4 bulbs total, 2 either side

On the standard rear lights the whole bottom red section should light up when lights are one and when braking. There is 2 bulbs either side like you said and they should be a double filament.

If they only light up when the sidelights are on just means the wrong bulb has been put in have a look at it should see two filaments inside the bulb. Common size halfrauds sell them.

Should light up like this when braking and when on

They are 7443 as I have one in my hand, dual filament. If I put one that works when sidelights are on and when braking from the outside socket into the inside socket it still doesn't work when braking?
Anyone have any advice on things to try?

Took the lights off last night, double checked the bulbs. Then looked at the bulb sockets and think I have found the problem.

I know it takes a few minutes, but could anyone just whip one of their lights off and just compare the socket types they have?

My "outer" socket that works as dual filament looks like this:

My "inner" socket that only works as a sidelight looks like this:

If anyone could confirm the colour and number of wires going into each brake/sidelight socket it would be a great help
