i thought it was querky and suited the car , the fact it was a static car show and brightened up the stand the car was on.

i must admit, i would never dream of fitting a roof rack/tow bar etc to the s15, if i needed to cart stuff around that badly id consider buying a little heap of crap car for it (which i did). im not saying its wrong, even if it is a bit but it definitely isnt my bag. nice pictures anyway guys - once again i wish i was there

Nicely dude c'mon.. im sorry i couldnt conform to the standard OEM bodykit, OEM height and OEM taste's as the 'older' members seem to adhear to .. It was on for a laugh mate, as said.. its mearly a static show, so to get the car to stand out.. certain things need to be tried, its hardly like its not a go car.. probably one of the only ones on here that driven sideways the way it was meant for.

You kinda hurt my feelings a little and for the record, my trouser's are currently at my knee's.. but thats not because it looks cool, its because it looks bawler :thumbs:

but it doesnt give him the right to pick on some one / there style so brutally . its a bit unprofessional in my opinion for an admin to act like this and isnt the friendliest atmosphere for a newbie to have to read.

the roof rack was for show, after all it was a car show at the end of the day.

For the record. My comments weren't aimed specifically at Mint or anyone else. It was more the idea of fitting a roof rack for anything other than carrying something which won't fit in the boot (and only then in a dire emergency). It's like fitting a tow bar for looks... Or worse still: neons. I know for a fact that I'm not alone in this opinion.

I'm sure Mint is well aware that his and my tastes are poles apart. When it all comes down to it, it's his car and he can do what he wants. We'll see how long the new bumper lasts...

If someone posts up photos of their car and mods on a public forum, then I (and anyone else) has the right to say what we think. If people don't like that, don't post photos and certainly don't ask what people think.

And to answer the question: I used to attend JAEs and Japfests every year. I stopped last year because JAE had become s h i t e in the highest order (I understand it was MUCH better this year) and I could no longer stomach the increasing chav elements at both shows which had previously only to be seen at Paxo and Corsa fests like Trax.

I can understand what your meaning, Its not something Iv ever done before to the 15 but its something I had thought about, I like to see the thule rack's with the wind breakers on the US civics, its just different I guess.

I certainly dont rock one all the time lol, Its actually for my mates super charged is200 and it looks the shiz on that totally 100% functional, as we had no other way of getting the torii gate down yonder.

True enough about JAE's past though.. got steadily worse with the noise police.. and imo, this year's JAE didnt have much in terms of "show" it was kinda.. hmm.. chavvy? with the air horns and likes, but each to their own. Didnt come across the noise police once all weekend. Bonus! :thumbs:

As a newbie on here it would be quite off putting but as a staff member on antoher car forum I understand there are sometimes dis-agreements within forums but I have to stick up for shows like Trax, this years was one of the best I've been to and I do attend a lot of the local Modified car shows. Yes there are lots of so callled Chavs and I dont class mysef as one but without people like this the shows wouldn't be the same, we were all young people once who could only afford the first cars including saxos/corsa's etc.
Just because people can now afford bigger/fasters cars I don't think it give you the right to slate people, everyone has their own taste - thats my opinion anyway so hopefully I haven't made any enemies on here already, I was really looking forward to getting the S15 and being part of the club. x

Sorry if you're offended. A great many things piss me off about people's tastes and comments on here, to which I never comment on the public forum. However, I am also a person just like everyone else. I also run the administration of the entire site and forum for free and at my own cost (slightly subsidised by a handful of generous people who become contributing members). I feel this gives me the right to very occasionally state my opinions.

We'll have to agree to differ about Trax, I'm afraid. If it was just me, why do the SXOC never have a large presence there?

Oh, and the bigger/faster car I upgraded to is a £2k 1996 Toyota Hilux Surf. Certainly bigger...

HOWEVER

despite having what some might call a 'chavvy' car, and even wearing nike tn's and jogging bottoms - i didnt feel it necessary to go to car shows (where there are families out for the day too) and walk around with a can of beer, swearing about how crap everyones cars are, or how crap this pro drifter is, or how 'if that was my car i'd rag it and do doughnuts' etc....this is why i dont go to japfest any more, i had to watch a mother cover her little ones ears up while watching the drifting because some yobbo's were shouting all sorts of abuse from the stands, and she seemed too intimidated to say anything:annoyed:

sorry for the rant, but the word chav has a blurred definition nowadays which ranges from someone who acts yobbish and antisocial right down to someone who has a slightly messed up perception of what looks good or is good.

The worst ive seen is modified nationals, the FTOOC had their annual there one year and i can honestly say ive never seen such a utter dismal display of human behaviour in my life. By the end of the first night EVERY toilet was covered in **** and piss all over the floor with toilet paper missing. The showers had all been ****ted in or coated in mud. People were trying to drift the FWD's with their mates hanging out the boot, this was directly next to peoples tents and cars. It got so bad at one point that the police sent vans and a helicopter to try and bring some order before someone was killed. Suffice to say the FTOOC never organised anything for that event ever again!
