How good are these gt2871r

I planned on building my set-up around this turbo, but had nothing but problems!

I had the .64 version , was looking for a real responsive set up and make around 360-380whp ... but problems left and right.

For what ever reason, ( no one knows) I no matter what could not controll boost with it. It would make way too much....more rpm more boost up to 1.8 bar if i didn't let off.

The design was not efficient enough to move the exhuast gasses quick enough through the turbo.

We even tried porting the wastegate hole bigger and just saftey wireing the W/G door wide open and it would still make crazy boost..

so I pulled it and went back to the stock turbo and had no problems.

sorry to bring up this thread

but i am lost at looking at the garrett web as there are so many model there. do the .64 version u all were talking about is this GT2871R - 472560-15

is hks gtrs exactly same as the gt2871.64 version i mention.??
just to confirm.. new to turbo...= lost
i have been reading alot about it from other forum.. it making me worse..lol

-Housing- 60 Inlet / 50 Outlet - 0.60 A/R
TURBINE:
-Wheel- 76 Trim - 53.8 Major / 47.0 Exducer
-Housing- GT25 inlet / Internal GT25 outlet; 0.64 A/R

i am lost at those i bold as the garrett website didnt show this for 2871..

does 71.1Major compare to 71.0Exd make a big difference? haha..
