Colin... My pleasure... don't mention it...
....All you need to have more practice then u'll be there in no time..
Try your best not to apply FF cars driving method as you are driving a FR car now, avoid trail braking for the time being, I'm not saying you can't do trail braking for a FR car but as rookie, learn how walk 1st b4 learn how to run... 1 step at a time. Brake in a straight line & try to carry more speed into the corner & start practicing left foot braking technique.
You must get rid of the fear of sliding the car. Always charged into corner with a slightly over speed feeling after slight turn into the corner easy off a bit throttle. This will make your car's tail end slide a bit, (2 reasons)
Reason 1 : Slide to angle your car towards the exit point by clipping the inner apex of the corner, at time you see you are almost at the correct exit line, tat's the time you need to put the gas back on, don't wait till you see the exact exit line then only you gas on.. it'll be too late + for sure you will run wide. Sepang track has 15 corners, I see you've missed almost all the apex.
Reason 2 : You charging into a corner with slightly over speed, by sliding, your car will slow down a bit resulting you'll be in the range of correct speed for that particular corner you are negotiating. This is to reduce the time your foot stepping on the brake pedal & increase the time your foot stepping on the accelerator pedal.
Your F & R chamber + toe setting is NOT ideal & pls get a good tire pressure gauge...!!!.. Your suspension setup is too soft, do something abt it....!!
As for braking, you don't brake hard enough. You brake a mile away b4 the corner where you can charged in deeper into the corner & do a hard braking in a straight line then dive into the corner with slight over speed feeling in order to perform paragraph 4 (above) technique. FYI... It's call " DYNAMIC DRIFTING".
Hope to see you next available open track day... we'll do more practical.. You'll be there in no time...
Cheers...
