Hey Minto kun,
Why are you taking Kei chan apart? Is this for winter, or something?

Konban wa ^o^

hai, Since i have the chance of having her off the road iv decided to do all i can in getting it cleaned up and running to top spec. The original reason was to dump in an RB25DETT however after weighin it all up. Iv decided 'why bother?' get the SR20DET Running top notch and sell it.

Iv been looking into exporting her back to Japan for when i land there (Need to speak to Andy Gray and see what his thoughts are) as im not sure yet.

I'll be there for the Tokyo Auto Salon if your coming along?? We should meet up dude and i can do a shoot on your car for my site!? That would be rad!

I think you would be better off selling your car and buying another one than to try and ship it back. The way I understand the process here is that once a car is exported from Japan the title is deleted from the system. It may be possible to import it back but you're going to have a hell of a time with the paper work and red tape...

As for the Auto Salon, like I said sorry but I'll be leaving Japan mid December. Hopefully I'll have my car back in the states soon after but it's not going to be fun.

Enjoy Japan, and keep studying I wish I had more がんばって!

DAY 5 : 06/12/08
TASK : Remove Tyres, Split Rims and Begin work on refurb.

Well, First off HUGE HUGE HUUUGE Thanks to Jay.. He's helped me out big time so far in terms of letting me use his garage to begin work on this. Also id like to thank Cam for taking 2 of the 4 wheels into town for me and Jay for the other two.

He took all 4 down in the van to Lawse to get rid of those crappy tyres and split all 4 with next to no hassle at all. Soon all bolts and nuts where out and we started work.

Home made bench

As you can see.. alot of mess on these wheels.

We popped over to BBQ to pick up a few Supply's..

Oh, Before we started.. we ordered food, around 2 hours later.. nothing turned up, We called back.. still nothing, ugh! LAME! We were starving, anyway another hour or so pass and we had to re-order the damm ****ing (FEKIN PHD!!!!) I had to go pick up a certain drunk kyle from his works night out lol, so we were gonna wait for food then go... then BANG this turned up....

So.. had to go get kyle and leave food :( Got back.. and it was freezing lol! Meh oh well.

Back to work..

continued...

^ lol cheers Slammed, id also like to note that the condition of the wheels due to my own stupid fault. I Kerbed one on day 1 of getting them on, then down at JAE i sprayed them with Auto Glym's Wheel cleaner, ran off for a bucket of water.. by the time i got back, it was too late :(

The acid in the cleaner had destroyed the laquer on them all .. was mortified.

So feel its only fair to bring them back up to almost a brand new state!

You may want to contact the manufacturer of the wheels and get the torque for the bolts. I was under the impression that they are done up to a specific torque and in a specific order so the rims don't buckle or warp.

whatever happens, use some kind of thread locking compound. The last thing you need is for the bolts to come out while you are driving.

Well update? I think so.. Just back from Japan as you all know, While i was there myself and Ian got in Speaks with the President of ARC and nabbed this bad boy hehe.

Well this turned up in record timing.. almost as fast as my flight home tbh.

ARC Super Induction Box FTMFW!!

First off, I removed the FMIC piping as there was like NO space, Then off came the old Apexi filter thats been in the car since she was imported..

Seen better days?.. lol

Then Scotty came round to lend me a hand in fitting this tricky bugger.

Then in place, bolted the filter back on..

Then test fitted the FMIC pipes... hmmm, Tight, However.. the brackets arnt on yet for the box as we need to drill out a bolt that got snapped a while back.

Loving it tho! Will look lovely with the other ARC parts under there hehe.
