Hi everybody, i just got a s15 last month and i got severao questions with my car
1. i run the dyno and it got 182HP atw at 0.6 boost, is it normal?
2. the modifacation my car got is big front mont, air intake and full exhaust system. the ecu hasn't been changed. so can anybody tell me the highest psi/bar my car can handle?
3. usually, how many kms can a s15 run for the full tank
thank you very much

You're gonna need an uprated fuel pump and colder plugs before you can raise the boost.

You will need grade 7 spark plugs such as NGK BR7EIX and a Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump.

0.8 without a remap or 1.2 with a remap is advisable.

A remap is where you change the fuel / spark map thats built into the ECU

you either need a programmable ECU (PowerFC and the like) or modify the original ECU (Nistune)

mine 0.9bar with factory fuelpump. no prblm with that... tried 1.0bar but when the boost came, it shoot up to 1.2bar then drop back to 1.0bar. the 1.2bar there not enough fuel supply-jerking.
for me, 0.9bar is maxed to my S15...
*PS: im using ron 97 on fuel...*

another noob question...
what does remap mean...
Remapping your ECU = tuning of vehices engine management systems therefore improving the efficiency of the engine and giving your vehicle increased power output, torque and fuel economy.

Do perform this operation properly and SAFELY in a controlled manor involves using specialised equipment to interface with the ECU and also a dynamometer to measure and compare the cars performance throughout the process of tuning

what you fill find in some cases is that if you have a FMIC and you just crank the boost up then you nearly always have a massive LEANS spot where the FMIC takes longer to pressurise than the smaller original.. this is also nearly always around the critical point of peak torque 3-4k.. where the engine needs more fuel to burn.. So becarefule gentlemen.. Dont go turning your boost up without checking everything first or you will regret it. You will only do long term damage in the long run... Seen it soooooo many times when cars come to me.. Some ive even refused to tune as a result of knowing how long that the engine has been driven like that for..

I'm running 14psi on my stock turbo with no problems, a couple of other guys in brisbane are running 16 with no probs also but have power fc tune. Still all stock other than that. I wouldn't push much more than 14psi with stock ECU. I'm using a Turbosmart boost-T on mine with no spiking issues and all is good. Make sure you have all the support mods done before hand (FMIC) but before you wind up the wick on the boost.
