SR20DE to DET engine swap?

Hi guys, I've been keeping an eye out for an S15 for some time now, man they are rare!

Anyway, just thought I'd ask this question as there is a spec S for sale for a very good price so I wondered if it is a straight swap from SR20DE to SR20DET on the S15?

Also wondered how easy it is to swap the gearbox from auto to manual.

The other thing of course, is there a breaker or specialist in the country who is likely to have engine and / or gearbox and any idea what sort of price we are talking?

You'll find elsewhere but Spec-S to Spec-R is like an S14a to S15 Spec-R. All the spec-S gets you is an S14 with 15 looks

If you want a Spec-R just get one. Much easier and cheaper

Oh, I always thought the S14 & S15 Spec R were basically the same car with different looks? Is the S15 that much different to an S14?

Price-wise, the Spec S is about 5 1/2 grand cheaper than the cheapest Spec R I've seen yet which is what tempted me really...

As said the Spec R really is worth the extra money, its more than just the engine and gearbox.

BTW, you still running Hostile Performance ? If so you i may be in touch for one of your Blits Nur Spec RX for an S15 sometime in the near future

I'll be honest the reason I'm considering the Spec S is cause my funds wont stretch to a Spec R at the moment so it's either this or something a lot more boring & "normal" but I was kind of hoping it'd be a fairly easy swap at a later stage to put the SR20DET in there...

Im fine thanks, ive got a White full Aero Spec R on the way from Japan, taken me 7 months to find a decent one i wanted though

Well i guess theres no problem finding a SR20DEt from a S14 and using a S14 gearbox, certainly would save yourself a fair bit doing it that way. Mitch done a SR20DE conversion to SR20DET including auto to manual here that may give you an idea....
