there isn't a huge amount of potential with the engine unfortunately, either DET transplant or stick to styling

Welcome! Tuning NA gets expensive with little reward. Headers, full exhaust, increase compression ratio, cams, throttle bodies, stroker kit and a map is about as far as you can go really. for the $$$ it would be cheaper to get a DET. Although the NA engines do sound way better
