So I've recently sold my supra! And and S15 has been my dream for years so I've put a deposit down on this beauty!

So I go to pick her up soon, and I can't wait! Been reading about g-box failures alot lately so just brickin it about that, but we will have to wait and see!

gear box failure? they are fine if you dont go over 380bhp and you put decent gear box oil in. Redline mt90 for example.

ive been drifting mine for almost 2 years now with no issues.

Gearbox issues? As Tooley says not much to worry about as long as 400+ power/torque or constant drifting/launching abuses it... for most of us it shouldn't be a concern!

Well that's good to know, as I dont plan to go over 320hp. Should be enough for abit of fun I think i will keep the spats but just for future reference how much they worth second hand?
Also anyone point me in the direction of a good thread for tuning safetly to 320ish as I'm not sure if you need a re-map or standalone to achieve those figures?

mine (My 2002 spec R) or richy's (My s15 work in progress) threads and we give them alot of abuse on the track

Stage 1 chip is the cheapest way, or a nistune! however i would go for an apexi power FC (still not bought mine yet)

Yeah to get 320 bhp you will definitely need to get stock turbo to boost to 1.2 max and also fit larger injectors plus Z32 AFM, FMIC and Walbro pump etc.


A remap either with chip or Nistune as Tooley says will suffice but if you want higher resolution and more flexibility then there are other options... Apexi PFC - good luck finding one lol (you can use S14 one but the wiring needs to me re-worked for S15). I'd suggest Vipec as keep hearing great things about these ECU's. But there is also MoTEC, Link as well for more $$$
