So I recently picked up a 1999 Spec R with the 6 speed transmission.The first day of ownership I had no issues, and the car went into all gears including reverse just fine. I drove the car home 5 hours with zero issues from Los Angeles. The next time I drove the car it refused to go into reverse and hasn’t since. I’ve read through the forums and tried the “put it in first and then reverse” technique as well as putting my entire back into putting it into gear and still nothing. Have had other people try as well and no luck. This car came with a Cube Short Shifter, so my initial thought is I may need to replace the short shifter. I’ve also noticed that while all 6 gears are as smooth as butter while driving, my 5th gear won’t engage when the car is stopped either. Any input would be helpful, as all the traditional answers don’t seem to solve my issue.
