Alrite guys,

I got the S15 booked in at a company called reworxs in pompy on friday just to check out how she is running and maybe up the boost as i have most of the supporting mods now:nod:

i only have a few mods which include,

1. Uprated plugs
2. Apexi air filter
3. Split fire coil packs
4. Walbro Fuel pump
5. Full 3 inch exhaust including Decat pipe
6. HKS BOV

Please note i havnt got a FMIC, i would like to think the car could make 300bhp on a bit more boost but i think thats unlikly so wondering what it will make on what boost from your experience and what reworxs will be able to take the boost too,oh and the chap said about a remap but surely he cant remap anything if i have a standard ecu can he? bit confused, wondered if anybody could clear this up for me, i want the car on a bit more boost and running safe, not too lean etc with my current mods, sorry to go on :D

Thanks, Need to learn somehow:nod:

Yeah think you got all the right mods there mate apart from the FMIC which IMO is pretty essential if you wanna hit that golden 1.2 bar with the stock tubby. You need to ensure the charged air is cool enough to prevent detonation when the car is being pushed to it's limits etc...

Dunno what that guy means about remap - you'll need an aftermarket ECU or summat like Nistune or Horsham chip to acutally get the electronics + fuelling etc to work differently than what's already there!!

Your breathing mods should let you get more power and more importantly TORQUE from stock and wouldn't like to say there's a hard and fast rule on what increase to expect. It's simply getting the mapper to ensure you are running enough fuel so there's no leaning out and also there's no det from the mixture getting too hot. At a guess I reckon you'll be ok up to 0.8 bar and maybe slightly more but this is very much dependant on the outcome of how car reacts on the rollers :)

Yeah, I'd say the same ^^

Someone on here had a remap by HD to 0.9 bar on the WMIC, but thats as far as Jez took it. If you can be patirnt enough I'd save up, get a FMIC, then go for the remap. Would advise going to a specialist too, as whoever said about remapping the standard ecu without piggybacking it clearly has not remapped one of these cars before.

I'd expect something around this WITH a remap.. 280bhp/lbs-ft @ 0.9 bar but with a FMIC you should get 300bhp/310lbs-ft @ 1.2 bar..? It vaires every time though.
If your on the stock fuel map and boost then maybe 250-260 depending on what RR you get it done on.

I know it can be an oversight but make sure you're on the 'good stuff' and I don't mean Guiness, I mean 99 Octane fuel like Tesco 99 or Shell V-Power lol :D

Every little helps ;) And no, I didn't say cos of the Tesco reference :p

i agree with all that you have both said so 250bhp at the fly will be a good aim then, as its an older car i spect its lost power but with the mods brought it back up again maybe, anyway il post up when iv had it done:) cheers tho guys:) the front mount is going on after i get my big dent sorted it bugging the hell out of me so il get that sorted then a greddy front mount be going striaght on, just all money eh:(

It was me that had the remap on the standard intercooler! :)

I had the car RR before the map and it made 234bhp but was really over fuelling so decided to get the remap. Jez didn't want to go too high for all the reasons mentioned but also because i used a cheap manual boost controller just to up the boost and they aren't too reliable at anything higher than 0.9bar. What boost controller do you have Paul?

Also remapping the stock ecu involved removing it from the car and Jez adding his own circuits and chips to it so it could be adjusted, Do u know what reworx are planning to do to yours?

Reworks are a RX7 specialist as you probably know, we used to get quite a few cars coming in complaining about RE works engine work when i was working for Hayward Rotary. but doing a RR run is a bit different.. all they need to do is check some diagnostics being most importantly DET as James mentioned and the AFRs.
