I've heard rumors that there is new legislation in Japan that could seriously hamper tuners product offerings . I heard they would prohibit modifications that changed the external appearance of the new cars on the road  That seems questionable but has anyone heard this or know what it really is?

doubt it to be honest. I mean there is allot to take into consideration with this aspect.
Larger tuning companies such as NISMO, Ralliart, Mugen etc wouldn't really stand for this. Their parts they make are for Aero purposes and can all be optional extra's when buying a new car so this would cause a large problem with the actual manufacturers.

So unless the Japanese government has a very serious reason behind this new legislation I cant see it happening to be honest.

Just my thoughts though.
