Right then where do I start? I haven’t really been involved posting on the forum for a while since the last issue with my new wheels and clearances. I've just been lazy browsing over feeling as if I don't have the time to post as a lot things have been going on. But now the sun is starting to make appearances every now and again I thought its time to give my self a kick up the back side and get my spanner and typing fingers out! I'm currently on holiday board so decided to start my thread!
Any way since first owning my S15 back July I have loved it! But with me, I am a perfectionist and only believe in doing things properly! There have all ways been things bugging me when first owning her! You will see these things as we go along. Also I hate to admit it but she has also been a bit mistreated after developing new driving skills! Learning to drift!
This will possibly be a forever going on project as I have a million and one plans for her! But like most peoples cases funds are tight! I don't believe in cutting corners and only want the best for her! My project aim is to have a road going VIP/Full On Power/Track Day S15! Get my Drift?
So here goes!
This is how she used to look when I first bought her. Apparently, so I was told that it was the first S15 to be bought into the UK as a completely standard car and be used to develop the ESVA model report papers? Whether this is true I don't know?
When buying the car it came with the following mods:
18 x 7.5" Million Spoke Wheels (Now replaced with TE37 18 x 8.5 fronts and 18 x 9.5 rears)
Apexi induction filter and AVCR Boost Controller
Cusco Front Strut Brace
Unknown Cheap FMIC
Horsham Developments Stage One Chip
Up rated Fuel Pump
Tein HA's Coilovers (The winding collars have now rusted and seized)
Apex Stainless Manifold
Braided Turbo Lines
THS Stainless Turbo Elbow and Down Pipe
Power Slow Exhaust (Now replaced with 5zigen Miracle Fire Ball)
Goodridge Brake Lines
That’s all the I can think of at this moment in time?
Since I have had the car I have added a few extra things like the TE37's, 5zigen exhaust, 5zigen Racing Wheel Nuts, HKS Matt Black SQV. I have loads of other mods to add that have been sitting on my shelf that I will add as I go along with the project.
On to the project its self!
First of all I want to put straight all the damage and things wrong with the car.
The Front Bumper! Sorry about the picture quality.
This damage was caused when practicing down my local trading estate linking drifts through a set of S's and getting too cocky loosing control ending up in a spin with a curb and tree in the way.
Can't really see it much but on the other side this was down to kissing a cone at a DWYB day at the Pod. I have tried so hard to polish out the orange but it seems to have imbedded it self into the bumper. The bumper is now at the body shop being repaired and resprayed.
The wing mirrors!
When visiting my girlfriends parking on the side of the road as I usually do. I come back out to the car and I’ve been gone for no longer than 15 mins to find this!
Some asshole coming up the road managed to clip my mirror taking a chunk out and finding the glass scattered all up the road! I was so angry not due to the fact that they had smashed my mirror up but hadn't bothered to put their hands up and say sorry (as accidents do happen) offering to give me their details and get it fixed! The other mirror also has a scuff from the previous owners. So a set of Ganador Aero Mirrors are in order. That is also at the body shop getting painted along with the bumper.
The Boot
I have removed the rear wiper and de-spoilered her. I have filled all the holes with loads of grommets until I have the time to take off the boot and have it filled and painted professionally.
The Engine Bay
This is the thing that annoys me the most when driving I keep on hearing squeeking and rattling noises and isn't just one thing either! This is what I have found so far.
Engine Bay as it was befor I got my hands on it!
The Front Mount Intercooler.
This is the thing that has annoyed me the most from the previous owner not bothering to fit it properly! It hangs way too low and have managed to catch it a few times up drive ways and banked car parking entrances and exits! The Result? Shearing of one of the lower bolts and bending one the aluminuim mounting brackets welded to the intercooler!
There dosn't seem to be a noticable boost leak as of yet but this was the least of my worries!
Check this out!
1) The hole done through the battery tray cut out using a drill! :wack: and packed out with card board! Also the Washer bottle is hanging by one bolt!
3) The Intercooler pipe!
So far this has started to wind me up with the work I am going to have to do when it could have been done properly in the first place! :annoyed:
Also I found this floating about? Can anyone tell me what it is, dose and if I need it?
For now I have left it at this. I have made my way to the cabin to strip the dash for my Defi gauges air vent install and other jobs I have. I will post that up next time as I have run out of picture space and
enthusiasm as she is getting me down!
