Bloody bulb has gone on the drivers side. So i whipped it out, went to halfords and came back empty handed. The guy there reckons upwards of £80?!!

Anyone know where to get the HID bulb from, and at what sort of cost?
Its a very bizarre looking thing indeed! Not like one i've ever seen..
The only marking on it is ''E11''

Until its replaced, Everyone is getting a dosage of S15 Full Beams! :D

Ok, google has given me a potential answer...

My current bulb appears to be a D2C fitment, and apparently most OEM spec bulbs are 6000k.

For anyone not aware, the D2C is a universal fitment for both the D2R and D2S socket types.
So my query is, Which socket type is the S15? As it would be cheaper and easier & cheaper to get the specific D2R/D2S bulb, than sourcing D2C bulbs.

Also, is it safe to up the brightness/kelvin rating from 6000k to say, 8000k? or could this damage/melt the lenses?

Cheers

Why would you want one bulb at 6000k and one bulb at 4300k unless your planning on doing both?

I'll be changing both at the same time. So would a 6000k be fine? or will it damage the lens and/or unit?

I hope so too, my impression was the temp rating would just produce a bluer light which is closer to daylight, making it more visible. doubt it will do anything to the headlight

6000k will be fine - if you want to look like a chav :p They just have a hint more blue to them.

4300k are much whiter and much brighter. I think blue HID's will be asking for trouble with all of these new MOT regulations as they will appear aftermarket.

Hmm.. 6000k are a LOT easier to get hold of though, and cheaper than 4300k ones haha...
just as long as it wont damage my unit, i'l get 6000k. Cheers for the advice :) IMO 6000k arent that blue anyways, as a lot of standard HIDs are 6000k on new cars anyways! :p
