Has any body ever cut their shifter?

I've seen some people do it on other cars. Obviously it's not as good as the real thing... But they are hard to get hold of.
I have the URAS solid shifter which is an improvement to stock but the throw is the same.

Has anyone ever cut the shifter before?
If so did it make any difference?
The one I have looks proper easy to modify and I reckon I could take a good 1.5" off.

Try fasthands for a real one. I have just fitted a C's short shifter to a box but not tried it yet. I dont know about an inch and a half but worth a try. If you want a spare I'll sell you my old one cheap.

I will do mate. I've still got the stock one so if it goes wrong I can use that. There's a workshop near me and the guy reckons it'll take him 10 mins to do.

I've been looking out for a C's but keep missing them when they pop up!
