Does anyone know a garage / workshop within the Berkshire Area (preferably near Reading or if needs be between Southampton & The Midlands) that can service the gearbox for an s15 or is a gearbox specialist anyway that your happy to recommend.
I've been getting a whining sound ever since i owned the car which i would presume is the input shaft bearing since it only happens when the clutch is engaged.
The box is also making another new whining sound when the box is cold and the clutch is pushed in for the first few minutes (maybe thrust bearing i think).
Anyway thanks to work I've put a years worth millage on a little too quick this year so originally i was gonna do this next year but im moving my timetable up. Might as well have these fixed and get the condition of the clutch in 1 go.
I was thinking if i need to change the clutch then i will replace it with an exedy Stage 1 (I believe this is pretty close to oem but a little better?)
(did just find this earlier thread as well, http://forum.s15oc.com/showthread.php?10330-Gearbox-whine)
