Ok so Im going to be fitting a Walbro 255 to my car.

One thing I just wanted to check is do I need to upgrade the Fuel Pressure Regulator at the same time or is the standard one fine?

Thanks.

Thanks guys.

So are you saying if I decided to upgrade the injectors I would need a new FPR?

I fitted a walbro at the weekend. Its not too difficult at all until you try to fit the new pump into the bracket and it looks like it doesnt fit! Just have to bend the solid pipe on the bracket out slightly. Nicelys guide is very usefull indeed.

I've heard about people connecting direct 12v to their fuel pump so it will run 100% all the time and that is wrong!!

^ what he said. Mine was a straight plug in. No need to change anything at all.

thats not how its done, the original fuel pump wiring feeds a relay over which the clean 12v is fed to the pump. the ecu still has full control over the fuel pump and can switch it on and off if it wants to

couldn't see why not. They should be the same car as far as the fuel supply system is concerned.

standard one if fine you should only need to upgrade your FPR unless your standard one is buggered.
this may seam like a dumb question bit if you FPR is buggered, would you not get any fuel at all of just feck all fuel under load? as im wondering i my FPR is the cause of my cars issues

A hint with the fuel pump - if the screw top leading to the tank won't budge by hand, use a hammer and a BLUNT chisel and tap it gently... slowly... works like a charm.

Have fun and use a pedestal fan for the stank.
