I have reason to believe that my ECU sometimes doesn't produce proper spark signals. I'm told that the ECU itself contains "ignition/spark driver" which produce the pulses for the plugs. Apparently they're just a transistor or something, and are the first stage before the spark amplifier then the HT coil.
To avoid replacing the whole ECU, could I just slot a Nistune in? I've heard a rumour that for whatever reason they have their own ignition drivers which would be used instead of the shot one in the ECU. Does anyone know about this?
Thanks
P.S. I'm not 100% on what the problem is. If anyone would like to lend me a Nistune or a standard S15 SpecR ECU, that'd be awesome
