Boost Controller AIR FILTER?

Just finishing up installing my Apexi AVC-R Black Edition, and notice i don't have the 'flying saucer' air filter.

where is best to buy one from in the UK?

I don't think it's necessary to fit it, I know Jez at h-dev never bothers... If you really want one I have one.

Never even heard of these before! And now you've got me curious! Whats the story with them? Worthwhile or not?
Have you had one fitted to yours Dean?

Mine was never fitted, still got it. Had no problems in 3 plus years of use

Those filters are generally included with electric boost controllers, pressure sensors and some BOV's.
I think all it does it fillter any particales which is in vacuum lines, so dust/carbon won't building up on the sensors. which should help make the sensor work at there best.

i had one of these fail on me as it split into 2 and cause a vacuum/boost leak.

I've never seen these before but then again i'm pretty new to turbo cars, surely these would be detrimental to the response of a boost controller ?

For example after they have been in use for a while (or even new) the filter will to some extent impede the flow through the line to the boost controller resulting in less pressure getting to the boost controller meaning it will delay the response resulting in going past the desired boost level ?
