battery light stays on

wel lads im after buyin an s15 but the battery light stays on whilst I drive??? does this mean i need to replace the battery or what?? she was jump started when i got her but she seems to start everytime but the light stays on!

the battery light staying on is often a sign that the altenator is croaked.

Yeah as above, one of my previous cars lit up the battery light for a few weeks before the alternator finally went. Basically the alternator is giving out some voltage but not enough to fully charge the battery.

can u get an alternator reconditioned?

Yea, when i got my car i had a similar problem and the garage replaced it with a reconditioned one I believe

Yeah many places recon alternators, just search locally to yourself and you'll find somewhere. Nothing fancy about the S15 alternator compared to other cars.

usually with alternators its on a swap basis, i.e. you go to the garage give them your old one plus cash and you get a recon'ed one in exchange. buying a new one can be expensive.
