I've heard of glass ones going on Strawberries. All the OEM ones are plastic - hence the recurring issue with 'dirty' plastic. I can only assume glass ones are aftermarket, though I'll be happy to be proven wrong

I think the optional silver headlights are glass.
Very rare though.

I just think the chances of me getting insured without a UK license are pretty slim though

I don't know, the country is full of Poles who drive their Polish cars with Polish road tax and Polish insurance. Just drive one from Russia and run it on Russian road tax and insurance!
